This is a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact by applying your leadership and technical expertise to create transformative, data-driven solutions that deliver unprecedented value to our customers and partners.What You'll DoDevelop and execute the vision and strategy for data, AI, and machine learning within the Workiva platform, ensuring alignment with the company’s broader goalsBuild and lead teams of Data Engineers, Data Infrastructure Engineers, Data Architects, AI/ML Engineers, and Data ScientistsOversee the design, architecture, development, and scaling of new data systems and platformsEnsure seamless integration of new solutions into our existing platform and productsCollaborate with Product leadership to drive innovation, ensuring that data-driven insights are fully integrated into our platform and customer experiencesLead Workiva’s AI/ML initiatives and guide the growth of our data strategy, ensuring alignment with our overall data platform visionChampion the secure and ethical use of data and AI within all engineering initiatives, promoting accountability and high standardsUnderstand customer, business, and market needs to deliver capabilities that drive business growthDefine and monitor the health of the data ecosystem, setting up systems for complete monitoring, critical alerts, and data quality improvementsIncorporate essential nonfunctional requirements, such as data quality, governance, lifecycle management, and complianceFoster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and accountability, inspiring teams to achieve excellenceAttract, develop, and retain top talent, promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion across the teamWhat You'll NeedRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience15+ years of experience leading engineering or technical teams, with a focus on data-driven rolesExperience working cross-functionally with product, engineering, marketing, and business leaders to deliver impactful, data-driven solutionsA strong commitment to the secure and ethical use of AI and data within engineering practicesExperience leading teams focused on data, AI/ML, and data architecture at scale within a large organizationDeep expertise in designing and scaling data platforms in a B2B SaaS environmentExperience with modern data practices, including AI, machine learning, data science, and data ecosystemsPreferred QualificationsProven track record of leading engineering teams through transformation, building data capabilities, and turning data insights into business valueStrategic thinker with the ability to align data and AI initiatives with broader business objectivesStrong leadership and communication skills, with a passion for inspiring teams and driving forward-thinking strategiesMBA or equivalent advanced degreeTravel Requirements & Working ConditionsUp to 25% travel Reliable internet access for any period of time working remotely and not in a Workiva officeHow You’ll Be Rewarded✅ Salary range in the US: $227,000.00 - $300,000.00✅ A discretionary bonus typically paid annually✅ Restricted Stock Units granted at time of hire✅ 401(k) match and comprehensive employee benefits packageThe salary range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this job in the US.
