We are seeking a Director, Research & Development with a passion for innovation, to join our team to augment our novel biomarker detection and quantitation capability. You will be leading a fast-paced team on multiple projects, trained by and working closely with a global team, and will be a part of a rapidly growing company to make an impact in life science research and early disease diagnosis. Primary Responsibilities: Drive planning, design and full lab set up for Alamar’s research and development Ensure lab is physically and environmentally fully compliant and operational for assay development and other testing to be performed Direct work of scientists as they execute experiments to detect new biomarkers, explore innovative methods to enhance assay performance, optimize processes to ensure reliability and accuracy. Proactively identify opportunities to enhance both product functionality and process efficiency, contributing to continuous improvement. Serve as a subject matter expert within the technical core team, risk management processes, and during the investigation and resolution of experimental issues. Provide technical guidance and training to junior team members and other departments, fostering a collaborative and informed work environment. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the timely and accurate completion of deliverables. Develop and document technology and product requirements, protocols, and work instructions, ensuring clarity and compliance with industry standards. Conduct thorough analysis of assay performance data, ensuring robustness, accuracy, precision, specificity, and sensitivity. Develop and optimize assay protocols to meet performance specifications, demonstrating self-motivation and attention to detail. Oversee project planning, execution, data analysis and manage resources to ensure timely completion of Technology Access Program projects. Design and execute experiments for sample testing, new biomarker assay development, and instrument proof-of-concept projects based on clients’ requests. Collaborate with the research and field teams for assay transfer to support clients' projects and their relevant scientific applications. Requirements: PhD. degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related discipline with a minimum of 10 years of Life Sciences experience. Track record of leading a high-performance R&D/application/service team in lab and fast-paced environment. Hands on experience running and/or developing immunoassays, such as ELISA or similar, as well as experience generating, analyzing, and reviewing assay data. Knowledge of emerging reagents, immunoassay technologies, biomarker discovery, assay prototyping, performance optimization, and control system design. Ability to lead internal teams to work on external projects and deliver on customer expectations. Self-motivation with a positive “can do” attitude, attention to detail and ability to manage complex projects. Strong communication skills are required to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
