Director - Revenue RecognitionLocation: UK, Home OfficeInfinera is looking for a motivated candidate to join its revenue team.  This role involves proactively collaborating with sales management teams to guide on sales transactions & programs to optimize in period revenue recognition while maintaining full compliance with US SEC and US GAAP requirements.The individual will be a subject matter expert providing clear revenue recognition guidance for teams to follow. The role includes providing leadership to sales regions on key issues, project managing whitepapers, advising on emerging issues and ad hoc policy issues, working in conjunction with the compliance team to ensure Infinera policy and US GAAP has been properly implemented.Responsibilities: I want to and can do that! Act as technical accounting resource for the company by researching, resolving and documenting accounting issues that arise during the quarter.Work with Sales, Sales Operations and Legal during contract negotiations and provide suggestionsand assistance in order to ensure proper revenue recognitionWork with the Sales teams to provide guidance on deal structure while maintaining adherence to revenue recognition policy and booking requirementsProvide technical accounting guidance to various Infinera stakeholders across the company toensure accurate accounting, reporting and disclosure of Infinera's financial statements.Review customer contracts and apply revenue recognition guidelines and document the assessment in contract memorandums.Assess the impact of revenue recognition under ASC 606 accounting standardsAssist in the review of revenue disclosures for external financial reporting and assist in ensuring compliance with SEC and GAAP reporting requirements.Provide technical accounting assistance with special projects within the entire Quote to Cash cycleManage the process of maintaining Corporate Revenue Accounting Policy including regular updates of all accounting policies.Manage the preparation of data and other support information requests as needed for internal and external auditsby external auditors.Ensure Sarbanes-Oxley requirements are met for relevant areas (disclosure controls, policy review controls) Requirements: I’ve already done that or have that!BA/BS in Finance/AccountingMinimum 10 years of relevant industry experiencePublic accounting experience preferred, ideally Big 4.  CPA requiredProficient in researching accounting literatureMust be detail-oriented, have a proactive approach and the ability to work with cross-functional teamsMust be able to effectively manage critical deadlines and prioritize various tasksAbility to work in a team environmentStrong analytical and problem resolution skills, including the ability to research and simplify complex situationsSelf-motivated, strong work ethic#LI-GA1#LI-Remote“This position requires direct or indirect access to certain confidential information, hardware, software, technology, or technical information (referred to here as “Export-Controlled Information”) controlled under the U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or the U.S. Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
