December and January being a time of particular focusRole DescriptionAn exciting opportunity has arisen to join the in-house Direct tax team here at Live Nation Entertainment, the world's leading live entertainment business to support us during our key compliance season.This role would suit a corporate tax compliance specialist who is keen to apply their skills and experience within the live music industry. Live Nation Entertainment in the UK incorporates Live Nation UK, Ticketmaster, Festival Republic. Academy Music Group and DF Concerts along with a number of other music promotion businesses. The position will require the preparation and filing of corporation tax returns by the filing deadline, US quarterly reporting and year end reporting requirements, including liaison with external auditors and our US corporate tax team.What it’s like to work in the TeamYou will be part of a small friendly team who work in an open and approachable environment. Each day is different, we enjoy the freedom to figure out things for ourselves and undertake new challenges in an exciting industry.Who you areCompetencies / Skills / Knowledge / ExperienceCTA and/or ACA qualification (or equivalent)Previous in-house tax experience Fast learner to adapt during busiest seasonStrong understanding of corporate tax statutory compliance and reporting conceptsExperienced user of Alpha TaxGood Excel skillsExperience of running reports using financial systems such as Oracle and BPCExperience of US GAAP reporting and FRS102 would be advantageousBehavioursThe following attributes determine how the role will be carried out and are required to be a successWillingness to undertake hands-on corporate tax complianceA ‘can do’ attitude essentialCustomer service focused with internal and external stakeholdersAbility to organise and prioritise workloads to work to short lead times and meet strict deadlinesExcellent communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with non-tax stakeholdersTeam playerProactive and confident working using own initiativeAttention to detailWhat the role includesActing to bolster the existing in house tax team across our busiest season including Q4 and Year End reporting periodsPreparation of CT600 and supporting calculations for submission to HMRC of c.20 Group companiesPreparation and review of statutory accounts provision including tax consolidations for groups with multiple companies including JV’s and non-UK entitiesReview of tax computations and accounts provision for several Group companies where tax is outsourced (including Irish and German subsidiaries)Quarterly Group tax reporting to US head office including UK to US GAAP adjustmentsCalculation of UK QIPs and balancing payments (reminders for German tax payments and calculation of Irish payments)Liaison with external auditors and HMRC on various tax queries and enquiriesMonthly review of tax information and communication with management accountants Monthly review of tax accounts and completion of SOX checklistEnsure compliance with Senior Accounting Officer obligationsMonitoring of Interest and Debt restrictions on a quarterly basis and detailed calculation for submission to HMRCPreparation of annual budget tax figures for current and deferred tax including estimated tax payments for budget cash flowSupporting the Tax Director and team as requiredEqual OpportunitiesWe are passionate and committed to our people and go beyond the rhetoric of diversity and inclusion. You will be working in an inclusive environment and be encouraged to bring your whole self to work. We will do all that we can to help you successfully balance your work and homelife.
