Our Camera Incubation team is a multi-disciplinary team responsible for looking down the road and prototyping new experiences, architectures and technologies. We collaborate with design and product teams to bring new features across the Apple product line. Join us to explore together exciting new concept prototypes and see them realized in action! Description Description We are looking for a creative prototyping engineer with excellent practical knowledge of deep learning, ML tools and architectures, with an added plus for experience in multi-modal sensing. To be successful, you will have experience with the broader applications of deep learning, in particular generative AI, to the domains of visual or contextual sensing and perception, and is comfortable with architectures and ML infrastructure. A design-centric prototyping mindset, and the ability to rapidly adjust to changes in investigation directions based on insights obtained from experimental data, are critical advantages. You'll need to be able to clearly articulate what motivates an approach, and its pros and cons as well as risks. Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Strong background in Computer Vision and Deep Learning, in particular using generative AI principles and architectures Developed data-driven deep learning solutions to multimodal perception problems Hands-on programming experience for demonstration of innovative concepts (pyTorch preferred) 5+ years of industry experience in AIML Ph.D./M.Sc. in AIML or similar field Key Qualifications Key Qualifications Preferred Qualifications Preferred Qualifications Comfortable with using state-of-the-art Transformer and Diffuser models Knowledge about physical characteristics of imaging and sensing systems Experienced in and iterative prototyping environment Self-motivated, creative innovator with a passion for exploring new technologies Thrives in a cross-functional work environment and is effective communicating across different disciplines Education & Experience Education & Experience Additional Requirements Additional Requirements Pay & Benefits Pay & Benefits At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $175,800 and $312,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
