As an Incident Responder on CSIRT you will participate in continuous monitoring, incident response, threat hunting, purple teaming, detection engineering, insider risk investigations, host forensics, and more! The CSIRT continuously interfaces with key stakeholders throughout the company to identify, communicate, and manage risk.What You’ll Do:Participate in confidential insider risk investigationsCreate and implement insider risk related detectionsPerform detailed and comprehensive investigations, reviewing data from multiple sources to include but not limited to: network data, host data, and open sourceCommunicate with end users regarding potential policy violations when appropriateAssist in data recovery efforts through the creation of comprehensive intelligence reports on an as-needed basisProvide senior leadership and executive level staff with complex information in a clear and concise manner regarding active investigations on an as-needed basisHandling confidential or sensitive information with appropriate discretionAssist in regular and sustained alert tuning efforts to minimize false positive resultsEnsure that all investigations are properly documented and tracked in appropriate case management systemsSupport Incident Response lifecycle via triage and investigation of detections and take action as appropriate (e.g. live response, containment, escalation, etc.)Develop detection criteria across a broad range of technologies and log sourcesIdentify coverage and efficiency gaps in available data and toolingProvide information security reporting including security metrics as requiredParticipate in incident response and manage escalations as neededProvide after-hours support on an on-demand basisDrive efficient process development and documentation for all aspects of the Incident Response lifecycleWhat You’ll Need:Experience with data classification or risk scoring methodologiesExcellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong emphasis on attention-to-detailAbility to manage multiple investigations simultaneouslyAbility to work both independently as well as coordinate with multiple internal departments and Insider Risk Team members as neededExperience responding to security events, including front-line analysis and escalation, of hacktivist, cybercrime, and APT activityTheoretical and practical knowledge with Mac, Linux, and Windows operating systemsTheoretical and practical knowledge with TCP/IP networking and application layersExperience with access/application/system log analysis, IDS/IPS alerting and data flow, and SIEM-based workflowsExperience with security data collection, processing, and correlationEducation:Undergraduate degree or direct experience in information security, information systems, or computer scienceApplicable security certifications (GCIA, GCIH, GCFA, GNFA, etc.)US Citizenship required due to direct work related to GovCloudBonus Points: Scripting experience highly desirable (Python, Perl, Bash, Power Shell, etc.)Experienced user of SplunkExperience with host and network forensicsExperience with basic static and behavioral malware analysisExperience with user behavior analytics and profiling tools or methodologiesExperience with DLP toolingExperience in creating and tuning alert or query logic to provide greater fidelity and eliminate false positivesExperience in data loss prevention, data classification, and knowledge of common data loss vectors#LI-Remote#LI-RC1This role will require the candidate to periodically undergo and pass additional background and fingerprint check(s) consistent with government customer requirements.Benefits of Working at CrowdStrike:Remote-first cultureMarket leader in compensation and equity awardsCompetitive vacation and flexible working arrangements Comprehensive and inclusive health benefitsPhysical and mental wellness programsPaid parental leave, including adoption A variety of professional development and mentorship opportunitiesOffices with stocked kitchens when you need to fuel innovation and collaborationCrowdStrike is proud to be an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer.
