Job Summary:Title: Student Ambassador, UJC Summit (In-Person, Unpaid, For College Credit) Location: New York, NY (On-Site)The Role:Team Roc, Roc Nation's social justice and philanthropic division, is seeking candidates from across the United States to serve as Student Ambassadors for the next United Justice Coalition (UJC) Summit in New York City. Student Ambassadors will be an integral part of the success of the UJC Summit in 2024 by ensuring nationwide participation among multiple stakeholders including students, public officials, social justice organizations, activists and more. Ambassadors will also participate in planning meetings to assist with program content.Areas you will be learning about:Outreach + Recruitment - train with Team Roc on best practices for targeted outreach to educational institutions, local officials, activists, and social justice organizations in your designated stateMaintain an active list of all contacts and maintain close communication with internal and external vendors, track communications and follow up in a timely manner and as neededSchedule in-person or virtual meetings with school leaders and student affairs representatives Conduct grassroots outreach including flyering in local communities, schools and organizationsActively update planning team on outreach efforts and provide any recruitment updates and/or challengesDigital Marketing + Promotions - collaborate with Digital Marketing team to engage with targeted audience using all official UJC marketing materials - promote UJC Summit to outreach networks on social media (IG, TikTok, FB, LinkedIn, etc, and on emails/list-servs)Assist with identifying local media, social and broadcast outlets to promote UJC Summit 2024Provide suggestions to the planning team for improving user experience and spreading brand awarenessContent and Program Development - assist with research on topics and/or speakersAssist with research on social justice organizations and impact and advise on content that engages student voices and participationAdministration + Reporting - provide progress reports on a weekly basis to your designated supervisorSupport Team Roc administratively in day to day operations, creating meeting agendas, taking meeting minutes and providing updates to managementOther learning experiences related to the projectRequirements:Must be current student, enrolled in a Bachelor’s/Master’s program at an accredited college or universityMust be able to attend all weekly meetings (virtual or in person)Must be fully vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19Bilingual Proficiency and/or Spanish Speaking skills a plusComputer proficiency with MS Office products and Google SuiteExperience managing and navigating social media communicationsExcellent written, oral and interpersonal skills and ability to connect with various constituencies Strong ability to work independently as well as within and across teams in an entrepreneurial and fast-paced environmentFlexible with changing priorities and multi-tasking while maintaining a positive, optimistic attitude and demeanorShare an authentic passion for cause-driven workAble to intern 16 hours per weekAmbassador Perks:This is an unpaid internship for academic credit.
