The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing hardware and firmware for embedded systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements and architecture, lead the MCU selection, develop prototypes and prove concept viability.    Key deliverables will include analysis, technical documentation, design specifications, code with comments, and user guides. Our engineers stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends in embedded systems and firmware development.ResponsibilitiesDesigns and develops embedded systems for PC and related platforms to meet project requirements and constraints.Develops and executes test plans to validate system and firmware functionalitySpecifies and documents communication protocols, system states, and feature requirements in partnership with other firmware and software teams.Drives innovation and integration of new technologies into projects and activities in the firmware design organization through prototype development, presentation, and documentation.Manages relationships with internal and external partners for components, firmware design, and development.Defines system architecture and specifications in collaboration with hardware and software teams.Stays up to date on latest industry trends, component capabilities, and advancements in embedded systems.Education & Experience RecommendedFour-year or Graduate Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.Typically has 7-10 years of work experience, preferably in firmware development, or a related field.Proven experience in embedded firmware development and architecture.Proficiency in programming languages such as C and C++.Strong understanding of microcontrollers, RTOS, and hardware interfaces (I2C/I3C, SPI, UART, etc.).Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Effective communication and teamwork abilities.Experience with various development tools and IDEs.Expertise in identifying and solving hardware related issuesPreferred CertificationsNAKnowledge & Skills• Agile Methodology• C (Programming Language)• C++ (Programming Language)• Python (Programming Language)• Real-Time Operating Systems• Debugging of hardware and firmware• Embedded Systems / Firmware Development• Git (Version Control System)• Software Development Methodologies and Tools• Experience with Embedded ML applications strongly desiredImpact & Scope• Impacts function and leads and/or provides expertise to functional project teams and may participate in cross-functional initiatives.Complexity• Works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors.Disclaimer• This job description describes the general nature and level of work performed in this role.
