This includes Mission critical products, such as Database Management Systems and Database Tools for the DBA/Developer, Output/Reporting Systems and Storage and Infrastructure Management Solutions. This position is the leader of the Product Owner function and influences the success of the agile practices in software development. Directs engineering execution, frames Go To Market and launch plans and allocates software development resources. This Role is vital to develop effective process to deliver value in the Mainframe Infrastructure Software market.  In addition, this role will lead transformational initiatives and drive increased customer engagement.  Is a key stakeholder in strategic planning, which necessitates negotiation, partnerships across customer, engineering, user experience, support, sales, and field tech consultants. This position covers global technology development leveraging cross functional teams, in Four (4) complex solution areas:  Large Mainframe Database Systems (IDMS/Datacom), Db2 & IMS Database Tools and Utilities, Storage Management solutions, as well as Output management tools.  Nine (9) direct Reports (Product Owners). This role has direct customer engagement responsibility, development, support and sales enablement responsibility and will require event presence and leadership to promote solution value in market. As a member of the Mainframe Division Product Management and Strategy organization, this role will also have influence on the development of company market requirements for specific product(s) or product line(s), including product strategy definition, requirements analysis, and pricing. Monitors the development of business plans, assesses market penetration, and product positioning to drive competitive advantage, revenue and market share. Reduces broad concepts and business strategies into structured product marketing plans. Oversees market research, monitors competitive activity, and identifies customer needs. Establishes pricing strategies and develops marketing tools for successful product introductions. Communicates customer feedback to engineering, manufacturing and sales to enhance existing product(s) or product line(s). Leads new and existing product definition and is responsible for the business plans with joint departments including business development activity.Senior Manager Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function. Scope: Translates strategies into tactics(Middle Management)• Manages activities of two or more sections or departments within a function or product group.• Manages through subordinate managers, supervisors, or staff direct reports within a country or region.  • May manage external vendors.• Participates with other senior managers to establish strategic plans and objectives.• Makes decisions on administrative or operational matters including costs, methods, and staffing. - Job Complexity: • Works on issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of organizational objectives• Implements strategic policies when selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results• Establishes and assures adherence to budgets, schedules, work plans, and performance requirements. - Discretion: • Erroneous decisions will result in critical delay(s) in schedules and/or unit operations and may jeopardize overall business activities. - Reporting Relationship: • Typically reports to a Director. - Experience: • Minimum of 15 years of overall experience of which a minimum of 5 years is in management.Additional Job Description:Compensation and BenefitsThe annual base salary range for this position is $138,000  - $221,000 This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in accordance with relevant plan documents, and equity in accordance with equity plan documents and equity award agreements.
