Join Apple, and help us leave the world better than we found it. Join a growing laser subject matter expert group within Product Operations. In this role you will develop new laser processes for a variety of laser applications such as marking, texturing, welding and cutting. Your work will begin in a development lab and scale to mass-production machine design, testing and qualification with external laser integration vendors. Come open up the boundaries of laser processing in one of the world’s most exciting manufacturing groups. Description Description - Work with USA counterpart and project teams to develop laser processes and equipment specs necessary for achieving application goals - Onsite leading laser process development and equipment qualification planning to scale and support machine bring-up & qualification throughout mass-production ramp - Validate product durability & quality concerns introduced by laser processes - Overall managing equipment readiness to ensure part availability, quality and cost. Communicate requirements and schedules to facilitate technical readiness with supply chain and OEM teams - Find opportunities for system integration and software customization to achieve application goals - Engage with external integrators to develop mass-production laser equipment based on development lab findings - Drive laser implementations with Engineering, Operations and multiple teams across the world - Lead communications, upward and downward through the organization; raising key issues and options for resolution with executive teams - 15-25% domestic and international travel required Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in engineering (optical, mechanical engineering etc.) 5+ years of direct experience with hands-on laser process development Strong project management skills to track program schedules and work Fluent communication and presentation skill using both Chinese and English Key Qualifications Key Qualifications Preferred Qualifications Preferred Qualifications Solid understanding of laser/material interactions. Ability of project micro- management across different programs, ability of driving technical solution and meet overall goals. Ability to develop a process in partnership with overseas contract manufacturers. On-site support at manufacturing sites during development and product production ramp, and working together with a team to drive all engineering issues to resolution Experience with design and execution of multi-parameter DOEs, documentation and summary of experimental configurations and results Experience with development and implementation of fixtures, optics, laser sources, scan head & nozzles is preferred Experience with AIML applications and deployment, understand basic terms of AIML programs is a plus Education & Experience Education & Experience Additional Requirements Additional Requirements More
