Software Development EngineerDescription -Job SummaryThis role is responsible for and plays a crucial role in ensuring the technical design, development, and maintenance of state-of-the-art print software applications on Android and Windows.ResponsibilitiesTechnical lead for various print software development projects.Works with Product Owner, Dev and Test teams to design and lead software development while aligning to delivered application and security requirements.Assists external vendors with expertise for project development, including architecture, documentation of features, reviews, assistance with test strategy and test execution.Assists in scheduling, determining people requirements, and cost estimation.Identifies, recommends, and drives changes to enhance and improve applications including consideration for available technologies, security, maintenance, and future development. Education & Experience RecommendedFour-year or Graduate Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.Typically has 4-7 years of work experience in software designing & development, software architecture, and programming languages.Extensive knowledge of IPP printing.Preferred Certifications• Programming Language/s Certification (Java, Kotlin, C++, JavaScript).Knowledge & SkillsAgile methodologyAndroid and Windows app developmentAndroid Open Source Project knowledge/experienceExcellent verbal/written communication skillsProficiency with Java, JavaScript, KotlinExperience with delivering software applications on Android and WindowsExperience with application architecture and library/API developmentExperience with SQL and use of in-app database solutionsPractical experience with C, C++Experience and proficiency with Android SDK, NDK, and Android StudioProficiency with Github and CI/CD practices using Docker, Gradle, MavenExtensive knowledge and experience with implementation of IPP printingThe following are not required but considered a plus:Familiarity and experience with unit testingFamiliarity and experience with LinuxCross-Org SkillsEffective communicationResults OrientedLearning agilityCustomer focusImpact & Scope• Provides expertise and leadership to development and test project teams and may participate in cross-functional initiatives.Complexity• Works on complex Android software requiring user focus, creativity, and use of excellent communication skills with internal and external partners.Disclaimer• This job description describes the general nature and level of work performed in this role.
