Join the team and create the future of customer experience together.VAT ManagerWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced VAT Manager to join our Global Tax team. The VAT Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of VAT reporting (and other similar indirect taxes outside North America) and strategy across our global operations. This position will oversee VAT tax compliance and related audits. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with VAT regulations, strong analytical skills, and expertise in Vertex tax technology solutions. This role may also include involvement in contract review and approval, specific to our Netherlands entity's commercial activities.Reports to the VP, Global Tax Operations who is based in the U.S.Primary Duties & Responsibilities:*VAT Compliance:- Ensure timely and accurate filing of VAT returns (and other similar indirect taxes outside North America) for all applicable jurisdictions, including coordination and management of external VAT advisors.- Manage VAT registrations, filings, and payments.- Oversee the preparation and review of VAT reconciliations and ensure proper documentation is maintained.- Monitor and respond to changes in VAT legislation and ensure compliance with new regulations.*VAT Strategy and Planning:- Develop and implement VAT strategies to optimize the company's VAT position and mitigate VAT risks.- Provide VAT advice on business transactions, contracts, and new business initiatives.- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure VAT considerations are integrated into business processes.*VAT Audits and Disputes:- Manage VAT audits and inquiries from tax authorities.- Prepare and submit responses to VAT audit queries and manage the resolution of disputes.- Maintain relationships with tax authorities and external advisors.*Vertex Implementation and Management:- Lead the implementation and maintenance of VAT component of Vertex tax technology solutions.- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of VAT data in Vertex.- Provide training and support to internal teams on the use of Vertex.*Process Improvement:- Identify opportunities to streamline and automate VAT processes.- Develop and implement best practices for VAT compliance and reporting.- Work with the IT team to enhance VAT reporting capabilities and ensure data integrity.Desired Skills and Experience:- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certification (e.g., CTA, CPA) is preferred.- Minimum of 5 years of experience in VAT management within a multinational corporation or a professional services firm.- Proven experience with Vertex tax technology solutions.- Strong knowledge of global VAT regulations and compliance requirements.- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.- Strong communication and people skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.- Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.- Experience in the technology industry preferred.If a Genesys employee referred you, please use the link they sent you to apply.About Genesys:Every year, Genesys orchestrates billions of remarkable customer experiences for organizations in more than 100 countries.
