The Data Center Deployment team is dedicated to driving the global infrastructure readiness to support the latest innovations in Apple’s product and service offerings. The team is seeking a driven and dynamic individual passionate in making Apple’s infrastructure goals a reality. You'll play a pivotal role in aligning Data Center team deliverables with critical timelines for the introduction of these new products and services. Description Description In the role of a Data Center Deployment Planner, your function will be to plan and execute on all aspects of server, gpu and storage deployments into our Data Centers. You will be required to work closely with multiple cross functional groups to get each project to the finish line taking into account priority, resourcing and scheduling to build a complete timeline for our customers to meet their deadlines.
Responsibilities
Plan small to large scale system deployments globally that include servers, storage, networking and other Data Center hardware
Work closely with customers and partner teams to define a deployment plan including hardware, network and security architecture
Troubleshoot issues remotely by coordinating and communicating with remote hands, vendors, and other teams to quickly isolate and remediate deployment issues
With minimal oversight, drive a project from initial planning stages all the way to completion by coordinating with SRE’s, PM’s, Site Services, Network and Logistics partners across the globe
Define hardware rack SKU’s to standardize deployments based on application needs and hardware types
Document installations such as elevations, power consumption, cabling deployment, and other relevant site, customer and deployment specific information Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications 3+ years of Data Center networking, infrastructure or related field experience 3+ years of experience working with servers, networking, storage or other Data Center Hardware Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience Key Qualifications Key Qualifications Preferred Qualifications Preferred Qualifications Understanding of both physical and logical networking fundamentals. Experience with different types of switches, connectors, patch panels and cables. Knowledge of basic network architecture such as TCP/IP and L2/L3 topologies and functions such as DHCP, DNS and kickstart. 5+ years of experience in a UNIX-based Datacenter environment, with proficiency working in command line (CLI) shells on servers and network appliances, remote administration, and basic scripting with bash and/or perl. Teammate with the ability to build peer, and external relationships Effective collaborator with excellent written and verbal communications skills Able to provide detailed instructions for partners to follow and execute Experience in project management (3+ years) in infrastructure services or related technical domains with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Education & Experience Education & Experience Additional Requirements Additional Requirements Pay & Benefits Pay & Benefits At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $148,700 and $264,300, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
