Responsible for actively driving and managing the technology proposition and evaluation stage of the sales process, working in conjunction with the sales team as the key technical advisor and product advocate for the Infinera product portfolio. The Systems Engineer must be able to articulate technology and product positioning to both business commercial and technical customers. Must be able to establish and maintain strong relationships throughout the sales cycle.Key responsibilities and accountabilities:Focus on Internet Content Customers (Data Centres, Search Engines, Video Streaming, Cloud, AI Providers, E-Commerce, Social Media Providers)Support of MOFN* specific in-region opportunities (*Managed Optical Fiber Networks)Responsible for development and delivery of technical product presentations / demonstrations.Support for New Product Introduction (NPI) and Lab Certification activitiesHands-on experience with product commissioning may be requiredManaging and interpreting customer requirements - speaking with customers to understand, anticipate and meet their needs.Articulating to customers that a product or design solution best satisfies their requirements in terms of reliability, scalability, price and delivery.Supporting marketing activities by attending trade shows, conferences and other marketing events.Able to respond to functional and technical elements of RFIs/RFPs.Able to convey customer feature requirements to corporate Product Line Management teams.Able to travel throughout the sales region.Develop and grow long-term relationships with customers.Producing customer orderable quotations.Provide after-sales support services.Liaising with other members of the sales team and other technical experts.Providing training and producing support material for other members of the sales team.Personal profile – Systems EngineerPersonality: You will be self-driven with a positive outlook and comfortable in dealing with senior company executives. You are well-presented and business like and sufficiently mobile and flexible to travel up to a few days a month within the region and U.S.Specific Job Skills:Experience in optical and transmission systems engineering design with a strong knowledge of telecommunications especially long haul DWDM transmission systems.Experience with Coherent optical transmission and Coherent pluggable technologies (e.g 400G/800G CFP2 ACO/DCO, QSFPDD, OSFP etc.) a plusExperience with Internet Content Customers and/or Top Tier I customersExceptional presentation skills for both technical and non-technical audiencesTelecommunication Network Design & Planning (long-haul, metro, access)Possess a strong ability to turn concepts through the design cycle including solution development and cost modellingAn articulate communicator, with excellent writing and social skills and an analytical approach to provide appropriate solutions to whichever tasks are presented.Computer skills: Must be adept in use of MS Office product set, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Word.QualificationsIdeal candidate must be self-motivated with a proven track record in system engineering and possess a strong knowledge of Long-haul, Metro, Access and Mobile technologies. The candidate must also be comfortable in the dynamic atmosphere of a technical sales organization with a rapidly expanding customer base. Must possess strong presentation skills and be able to communicate professionally in written responses to emails, RFP’s and when submitting reports.
