This role maintains PMO standards, processes, reporting, and tooling. This role drive all  resource and capacity planning across all portfolios, ensuring capacity is properly allocated to the correct work items. The director will collaborate with finance and portfolio directors to drive strategic reporting and insights that help drive strategic decision making and tradeoffs required to prioritize demands across portfolio's.ResponsibilitiesIT Resource and Capacity PlanningResponsible for ensuring the resource allocations within IT are constantly reflective of IT capacityEstablish resource planning framework and practices across IT, ensuring continual optimization and utilization of resourcesDrive resource and capacity planning efforts across all portfolios (encompassing $300M in capital labor), including the establishment of resource manager roles/responsibilities, processes, and standards for tracking work allocationsEstablish quarterly planning practices to ensure resource allocations are continually aligned across teamsMonitor resource utilization on project demands to ensure optimal performance and escalate trade-off decisions​Collaborate with finance, resource managers, and portfolio directors to align resource allocation with strategic priorities​PMO Planning and StandardsOversee the strategic planning processes across all project portfolios, partnering with the portfolio directors to ensure quarterly cadences are setup with the business teams to align on business priorities​Enable all cross-portfolio prioritization and annual/quarterly planning processes and practices within IT with a small and dedicated team​Partner with PMO and IT leadership to optimize demand flow through implementation​ deliveryMaintain and continuously improve PMO standards and processes​Ensure adherence to best practices in waterfall/agile project management and service delivery​Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the PMO and across the organizationDrive IT PMO alignment with the rest of Equinix, aligning on standards, roles/responsibilities, etc.PMO Tooling & ReportingManage and optimize the suite of tools used for project management, planning and reporting, including strategic portfolio management, resource planning, and reportingImplement ServiceNOW Strategic Portfolio Management Module and establish operational practices around toolingTrain and educate PMO, business, resource managers, and finance on SPM capabilities and establish process/practice/standards of toolingAlign upstream and downstream tooling to ensure effective tracking of all portfolio demands, including the integration of SPM with Jira, Oracle, and other IT toolsEstablish and maintain comprehensive reporting standards and processes for PMO ​Develop and deliver regular performance reports to senior leadership, highlighting key metrics, process, and areas of improvement​Establish regular PMO reporting cadences to ensure cross portfolio prioritization is established ​Partner with finance and portfolio managers to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting is established​Develop and implement value reporting frameworks to measure the impact of ITSC initiatives​Partner with PMO to identify and report on value driven-metricsStakeholder Management and CommunicationBuilds relationships with company executives and VPsResponsible for providing objective and comprehensive input to senior leadership and executive decision makersCreates and drives broad stakeholder communications with respect to portfolio status and budget utilizationParter to the transformation office to supply data at an enterprise level that helps in the prioritization of project demandsFacilitates monthly operational reviews of comprehensive reporting across portfoliosPartner with finance to drive the annual planning efforts around project demandsSkills and AttributesStrong strategic thinking and planning abilities​Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills​Ability to lead large working sessions and help facilitate hard/complex decision making​Expert in project management tools and software​Superior communication and interpersonal skills​Strong leadership and team management capabilities​Very strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting and value managementQualifications12+ years of experience in project management, PMO operations, portfolio management, or related fields.​Proven track record in PMO strategic planning, reporting, and tooling​Experience in resource and capacity planning within a large enterprise​Experience implementing PPM tools (SNOW a plus)Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field​PMP, LPM certifications preferred​People management and leadership experienceEquinix is an Equal Employment Opportunity and, in the U.S., an Affirmative Action employer. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.This position may be offered in other locations.
