Process Engineer IStatus: Exempt (salaried)Department: ElectrolyzersPosition SummaryThe Process Engineer l is a vital team member that supports activities related to the development, improvement, and continual operation of Plug Power’s products. The position is responsible for supporting the successful execution of projects and contributing to the overall success of our engineering department and plays a critical role in the development and refinement of manufacturing processes, material flow, and standard operating procedures.Core Duties and ResponsibilitiesWork to understand Plug Power’s projects including but not limited to relevant codes & standards, hydrogen production technology, customer site requirements, troubleshooting history, design limitations, and optimal system performance targetsCreate manufacturing and service procedures as necessary to support the assembly, installations, and continual operation of products.Conduct analysis to improve manufacturing processes and material flow, formulating recommendations and presenting them effectively.Evaluate and improve inspection processes and tooling designs through data analysis and feedback loops, aiming for enhanced productivity and quality assurance.Support the implementation of process improvement projects, Kaizen and training events using Lean-Sigma tools, including safety, ergonomics, 5S, Kanbans, statistical process control, standard work, and visual controls.Build relationships and engage in regular communications with cross-functional colleagues.Always represent Plug Power in a professional manner all interactionsPerform all other duties as assignedEducation and ExperienceBS in Engineering or a STEM related disciplineUp to 3 years’ experience in EngineeringProficient with Microsoft Office softwareStrong verbal and written communication skillsUncompromising dedication to qualityDemonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detailAbility to manage one or two projects concurrently.Ability to read and interpret engineering diagramsPlug Power, Inc. is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
