Data AnalystStatus: Exempt (Salaried)Location: Vista, Slingerlands, NYPosition SummaryThe Global Manufacturing Strategy & Operations organization provides business critical insights using analytics, to ensures cross functional alignment of goals and execution, and helps to drive strategic initiatives forward. We stay focused on aligning the highest-level priorities with effective day-to-day operations and help evolve early-stage ideas into future-growth initiatives.As a Data Analyst you will help to provide meaningful insights by identifying, analyzing, interpreting, and providing conclusions of metrics, trends, and/or patterns of complex data systems to support business strategyYou will be responsible for Power BI development and administration, building data models and transforming data for Business Intelligence. You will also manage reports and dashboards through distribution of workspaces/apps and monitoring usage/data refreshes/security access.This role requires strong data analytics and the ability to collaborate directly with various teams to improve processes and enhance reporting capabilities in an ever-changing business environment. Strong technical skills combined with business acumen is mandatory to translate business requirements into sound BI solutions. The ideal candidate is a problem solver who offers solutions. The individual will need to manage multiple priorities and keep stakeholders informed on progress.Core Duties and ResponsibilitiesIdentify, analyze, interpret, and provide conclusions of metrics, trends, and/or patterns of complex data systems to support business strategy.Utilize the Knowledge Discovery in Database (KDD) process for integration, cleaning, selection, transformation, pattern evaluation, and presentation.Organize findings from analysis and all figures into an understandable document for business usage.Have an intellectual curiosity to want to understand and explain questions and observations in the data.Utilizes understanding of business operations and goals along with technical knowledge to meet evolving data needs.Building reports and dashboards to automate data collection; run Quality Assurance reports to ensure all newly developed reports and dashboards are accurateDevelop reporting documentation for knowledge transfer when applicableReporting and monitoring status of projects and initiativesEnsure report output is aligned with company data governance processesLink Power BI with relevant systems such as ERP for efficient and automated report generationExempt employees are expected to work as many hours as is necessary to complete their job responsibilities.  This may require they work more than eight hours a day and more than five days or 40 hours per week.  Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree plus 3+ years of Data Analytics experience or a Masters’ degree in an analytics centric field and 2+ years of experience.Excellent planning, organizational and time management skills.Stakeholder management, negotiation and influencing skills.At least 2 years of experience in Python, R and/or other programming languagesAt least 2 years of experience in Developing, maintaining, and querying databases (SQL).At least 2 years of experience utilizing Power BIUnderstand business requirements in BI context and convert data into meaningful insightsUnderstanding of the testing and validation process of BI reportsDemonstrated ability to learn and apply newly emerging data analytic toolkits depending on the problem statement.Ability to work very collaboratively in a team environmentBe able to manage your time efficiently and work with little supervisionPlug Power, Inc. is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
