The Applied Networking team provides the frameworks to power interconnecting Apple devices to unlock sharing, collaboration, secure connections, and more! These frameworks provide API surfaces that enable Apple products such as iMessage, FaceTime, HomeKit, SharePlay, Apple Watch, AirDrop, and more to develop technologies and craft experiences that revolutionize the way people interact with their devices. The team is seeking a passionate SDK QA engineer to help adopt the frameworks by writing test apps, build tests that run in CI ecosystem to validate functionality, performance and power characteristics, and document API adoption to onboard client teams. Description Description As a SDK QA engineer on the Applied Networking Quality team you will have a unique ability to influence the shape of and usability of our networking framework APIs that facilitate and enable products and services to come to life. You will be involved in feature definition stage where test apps will be used to demo capabilities of our APIs You will be responsible for calibrating our APIs for latency, power and performance characteristics. You will be an admin on the help slack channels for our team and help answer questions, create documentation for common asks, provide code snippets to help engineers from the client teams You will advise clients of our frameworks on the appropriate APIs to use and its right usage based on the needs of the client team Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent domain Key Qualifications Key Qualifications Preferred Qualifications Preferred Qualifications Track record of consuming APIs / SPIs to build test apps used for validation. Involved in detailing API usage, building reference implementations, and help teams onboard as clients of our frameworks. Experience with running tests on various OS and device combinations in CI systems, prioritizing test failures, and test reporting Ability to work and partner with cross functional teams/ stakeholders. Technical experience with core networking concepts development and a strong grasp of computer science fundamentals Experience in modern software engineering practices (Object-oriented programming, functional programming, declarative user interfaces, test driven-development, etc). Strong object-oriented programming skills in at least one language like Objective-C or Swift Excellent communication skills; ability to collaborate successfully with peers from diverse experiences and backgrounds. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
