Driver / Warehouse Technician (Weekend Shift: Friday - Sunday: 5:30AM - 6:00PM)Status: Non-exempt (hourly) Department: Supply Chain/OperationsPosition SummaryThe Driver/Warehouse Technician will have the primary responsibility of transporting goods and materials between our production facility and off-site warehousing locations. This role will also be responsible for a range of activities within the warehousing and order fulfillment stages of our production operation. The ideal candidate must be able to operate a 26’ straight truck safely in compliance with all rules of the road and in all weather conditions. This role may be required to work rotational shifts including early mornings, nights and weekends. Physical demands include but are not limited to: the operation of electric and manual pallet jacks, heavy lifting and pushing/pulling movements. The model candidate would exhibit a proven track record of success with driving duties along with a teamwork spirit and willingness to support a variety of warehousing functions. A CDL is required for this role. Core Duties and ResponsibilitiesTransport finished goods and raw materials safely over land between warehouse(s) and production facilityOperate delivery vehicle safely at all times with the highest regard to the care of transported loads and the well-being of any passengersEnsure delivery vehicle(s) are maintained in safe working condition and in compliance with all DOT standardsStrictly adhere to all traffic laws and rules of the road applicable to commercial vehiclesPrepare merchandise for shipmentLoad trucks, and perform labeling of shipping informationManage delivery schedules and take primary ownership for on-time deliveriesPerform Proper and accurate cataloging of shipped inventoryAssist with order fulfillment for various departmentsSupport activities related to inventory controlRepresent Plug Power professionally at all times and with all interactionsPerform other duties as assignedRequirements High school diploma or equivalent; vocational education/training is preferredAt least one (1) of experience within a warehouse position; shipping/inventory experience preferredMinimum of 1 year experience with operating commercial vehiclesValid CDL-BExtensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulationsMust have clean driving recordMust submit to a DOT physical including drug screeningMust comply with all U.S. Department of Transportation drug and alcohol testing regulationsHazmat Endorsement; must be properly trained and certified in transporting hazardous materials, all certifications must be activeCertification in Department of Transportation Hazardous Materials Transportation Regulations under CFR 49 is preferredAdaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions, etc.)Proven skill set with a variety of computer and software programs including: Word, Excel, Outlook and others.
