Engineering Manager

As  Engineering Manager , you will have the overall responsibility and authority for the design, development and quality of the products in the facilities business unit. You will report to the Director of Engineering and partner with the other engineering leaders, finance, sales, product, implementation, marketing and customer success teams to define a roadmap and goals for the facilities business unit. You will act as an active spokesperson and evangelist both internally and externally by communicating and promoting the company’s technology vision and solutions. What you’ll be doing: You will manage the design, development and maintenance of the operationally critical products on the facilities business unit which demand 99.99% availability. You will partner with the operations team to define the business monitoring metrics, uptime and performance SLAs and continue refining it. You will partner with the business teams and management to drive adoption to these products by prioritizing and delivering most impactful initiatives with topmost quality. You will apply AI/ML techniques to drive innovation to meet business requirements, reduce operational costs, challenges and overheads. You will recruit, hire and retain top talents to build high performance teams.  You will provide technical vision and strategy for the team to build products which are highly available, scalable, secured, highly performant and cost effective.  You will review and own the multi-year technical roadmap, managing short- and long-term technology investments.  You will foster a metrics-driven engineering culture focused on impact and the fastest and incremental path to value following the best practices and standards.  About the team: Our global Engineering team is passionate, curious, and innovative. Who you are: Bachelor's/Master’s degree with minimum 12+ years of industry experience building highly scalable, high performance & responsive web applications. 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g. Go, Java, Ruby or Python). Minimum 4 years of experience in people management and engineering leadership. Minimum 1 year experience working with Kubernetes and Messaging queues. Experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases. Comfortable and effective in cross-functional and cross-organizational communication and collaboration Customer facing experience is a plus. IOT knowledge is a plus. Open source contribution is a plus.
