WiFi Development ArchitectDescription -Job Description:We are seeking a talented and innovative WiFi Development Architect to join our dynamic team. The WiFi Development Architect will play a critical role in designing, developing, and optimizing the wireless networking solutions within HP/Poly Collaboration devices including IP Phones, Headsets, and various Room System devices such as Video Bars, Codecs, Touch Panels, Smart Cameras, Smart Microphones, and more. This role requires a deep understanding of wireless networking technologies, strong software development skills, and the ability to lead technical projects from conception to deployment.Key Responsibilities:- **Architecture and Design:**  - Design and architect scalable and robust WiFi solutions to meet the needs of various applications and services.  - Develop technical specifications, design documents, and architectural diagrams for WiFi systems.  - Collaborate with product management, engineering teams, and external partners to define requirements and create innovative solutions.- **Development and Implementation:**  - Lead the development and integration of WiFi software components, including firmware, drivers, and applications.  - Work with suppliers to identify and compare Wifi chip and module solutions, and make recommendations the team as to the best fit with all considerations in mind.  - Work with hardware teams to ensure seamless integration between software and wireless hardware platforms.  - Utilize modern development practices and tools to ensure high-quality, maintainable, and scalable code.- **Performance Optimization/Troubleshooting:**  - Analyze and optimize WiFi system performance, including throughput, latency, and power consumption.  - Conduct performance testing and tuning of WiFi solutions to meet stringent performance requirements.  - Triage WiFi issues reported by internal stakeholders and customers, and work with suppliers to track and fix all issues.- **Research and Innovation:**  - Stay abreast of the latest advancements in WiFi technology and industry trends.  - Conduct research and prototyping of new WiFi technologies and features.  - Evaluate and recommend new tools, technologies, and processes to improve development efficiency and product quality.  - Develop short-term and long-term stragegies for ensuring that HP/Poly leverages common solutions for multiple products, while limiting exposure from single-source solutions.- **Security and Compliance:**  - Ensure WiFi solutions comply with security standards and best practices to protect against vulnerabilities and threats.  - Implement and enforce security measures such as encryption, authentication, and access controls in WiFi solutions.  - Collaborate with security teams to conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.- **Collaboration and Leadership:**  - Lead and mentor a team of software engineers and developers, providing technical guidance and support.  - Work closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, network architects, and product managers, to deliver integrated solutions.  - Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide project updates, technical insights, and strategic recommendations.  - Collaborate with peer teams within the HP Corporation to share knowledge and leverage solutions with other product teams.- **Documentation and Training:**  - Develop comprehensive documentation for WiFi solutions, including design documents, user guides, and API documentation.  - Provide training and support to internal teams and customers on the use and deployment of WiFi solutions.Qualifications:- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.- Proven experience (5+ years) in software development with a focus on WiFi and wireless networking technologies.- Strong programming skills in languages including C and C++, plus preferably Python and/or Java.- In-depth knowledge of wireless networking standards and protocols (e.g., IEEE 802.11, WPA2/3, etc.).- In-depth understanding of Wifi Versions/Generations.- Experience with WiFi chipset SDKs and development tools, and knowledge of relative strenths and weaknesses of popular chipsets.- Familiarity with MIMO concepts, considerations, and advantages.- Familiarity with embedded systems development and real-time operating systems (RTOS).
