Financial Close AnalystDescription -Job SummaryResponsible for ensuring timely and accurately closure of the General Ledger. Applies advanced level of subject matter knowledge to solve a variety of common business issues. Works on problems of moderately complex scope. Acts as an informed team member providing analysis of information and limited project direction input. Exercises independent judgment within defined practices and procedures to determine appropriate action. Follows established guidelines and interprets policies. Evaluates unique circumstances and makes recommendations.ResponsibilitiesProvides moderately complex financial analysis that is either transactional or analytical.Performs interfaces fallouts guardian role by reporting, monitoring and following up with business owners until issues are resolved.Performs analysis/validations of the different Close cycles such as Revaluation, CO/GL Allocations, Consolidation, Global Cost Allocations, Posting Periods, etc.Identify opportunities for process improvements and policy compliance engaging with GL Design and IT teams.Establishes and maintains relationships with IT leaders to actively ensure financial close SLA´s are met.Handles more complex business issues.Prepares and analyzes operational metrics to identify issues to address them before impacting month end close.Develops a deeper understanding of HP's financial processes and a detailed knowledge of the business.Performs SOX controls related activities.Identifies opportunities where the business, function, or geography can leverage standardized IT solutions and actively promotes their adoptionEducation & Experience Recommended• First level university degree with a focus in accounting or finance recommended or equivalent experience. • Typically has 2-4 years of work experience, preferably in Finance IT projects, process improvement, or a related field or an advanced degree with little or no work experience.Preferred CertificationsNAKnowledge & SkillsBasic understanding of accounting processes and principles.Good analytical skills.Good business application skills (e.g., Microsoft Excel).Good communication skills (English/Spanish).Good teamwork skills.Automation experience/knowledge is nice to haveSAP ApplicationsPower BI Process improvementCross-Org Skills• Effective Communication• Results Orientation• Learning Agility• Digital Fluency• Customer CentricityImpact & ScopeDirectly impacts timeliness, accuracy and availability of the company´s general ledgerComplexity• Responds to moderately complex issues within established guidelines.Disclaimer• This job description describes the general nature and level of work performed in this role.
