We are seeking an experienced software development manager to join our AutoCAD development team that focus on building a new suite of features to help our customers work more efficiently and effectively than ever before. We value the knowledge and experience of the candidate in applying appropriately in the new challenge.ResponsibilitiesRecruit, coach and develop a talented and highly motivated team to deliver the AutoCAD Windows product successfully Lead and guide teams of highly skilled software engineers to work within a Scrum framework on high-quality solutions in response to stakeholder requirementsManage the performance of your team by communicating clear organizational goals and removing impedimentsInspire and motivate team members to improve productivity and foster creativity while maintaining a healthy work-life balancePromote a culture of continuous improvement through ongoing feedback, coaching, and tracking performance. Support individual training and career developmentDrive both the software development process and the right technology decisions while also advocating for appropriate customer improvements and adjustmentsCollaborate with Product Managers, Product Owners, Software Architects, and key stakeholders to build release plans that deliver meaningful value to CustomersFoster collaborative relationships with other teams to accomplish holistic organizational goalsBe the spokesperson for the team and champion their accomplishments with upper management and adjacent teamsWork with a globally distributed team and with team members that are in a hybrid/remote work settingCultivate a culture that promotes Autodesk values, inner sourcing, and a proactive attitude to get things doneManage the product backlog, do scrum planning with team, and validate that all new features meet functional, performance, and experience requirements and ensure incremental delivery of business value over timeCommunicate clearly and effectively with different functional teams to identify any risk early and ensure issues can be resolved in timeUnderstand product with data analyticsStrong ownership on the product and teamMinimum QualificationsBachelors/MS/Ph.D. in a related field (software engineering, computer science, statistics, etc.)8 years working experience with 3 years as people manager5+ years of hands-on C++, C#, .NET programming skills and experience on Microsoft WindowsStrong communicator who can explain complex topics to both a technical and non-technical audienceSolid understanding of all phases of the software development lifecycle from analyzing the needs to delivery of working softwareExperienced in Agile software development practice and ceremoniesWork with the team to break down complex technical requirements into logical execution slicesDemonstrates mature judgment when making engineering choices, and can reliably make the call between elegant and practical fixesCollaborative, respectful, and thoughtful leader who is interested to work in a diverse and global teamManage the quality of feature delivery by continuous integrationSuccessfully completed three or more commercial software development cyclesPreferred QualificationsExperience on one of these platforms - Mac, Web, iOS or Android development is a plusExperience on one of the graphics technologies, DirectX, Metal, Vulkan is a plusExperience on Python script is a plusExperience on machine learning is a plusExperience on test driven development is a plusExperience on behavior driven development is a plus#LI-POST #autodeskvancouverLearn MoreAbout AutodeskWelcome to Autodesk! For Canada-BC based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $136,000 and $187,000. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range.
