Job Requisition ID #24WD80143Position OverviewAutodesk is looking for an experienced, enthusiastic Principal Software Engineer with experience with graphics technologies and large-scale application development. This important role will influence the future of Autodesk's graphics solutions and ensure and scalability in enterprise-level applications. As a Principal Engineer, you will provide technical leadership, mentor senior developers, and inspire creativity within the team. You will work with teams to design graphics pipelines and technologies. You will report to the Engineering Manager and will work from Pune location.ResponsibilitiesProvide technical leadership and architectural guidance for graphics software developmentMentor and groom senior developers to take on higher responsibilities and provide reliable solutionsLead the design, architecture, and implementation of next-generation graphics technologiesEnsure the solution implementations achieve desired quality attributes, such as performance, scalability, security, and resiliencyCollaborate with product managers, UX designers, and tech lead to translate requirements into well-documented engineering solutionsRepresent the engineering needs and feedback from the team in multiple forums and cross-platform ProgrammerStay informed about new technologies in graphics and large-scale application developmentRigorously test and increase applications for responsiveness, quality, and efficiencyProvide strategic advice to the leadership team regarding the technical direction of graphics productsInitiate plans and solutions to push us forward and achieve engineering excellenceTake an active part in the global architect forum, leading cross-team programmer and communicating action items to relevant partnersCollaborate with a distributed team and partners, contributing to Autodesk culture valuesMinimum QualificationsMaster's/Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience8+ years of software development experience, with a focus on graphics-related domains5+ years in a technical leadership role overseeing complex projectsExpertise in C++ and graphics libraries (e.g., VTK, Vulkan, Metal, OpenGL, and WebGL)Track record in performance optimization and developing large-scale applicationsExperience designing and implementing complex cross-platform software architectureGuide engineers, encouraging learning and team growthCollaboration Experience communicating updates and resolutions to customers and other partners, able to work in a global and distributed environmentExperience with cloud services such as AWS, with a focus on storage and computeFamiliarity with CAD, PLM, and simulation technologiesHands-on experience with API architecture and management, secure engineering practices, and cross-platform development#LI-SB4Learn MoreAbout AutodeskWelcome to Autodesk!
