The existing team consists of Oracle and MS SQL DBAs, Database Performance engineers· Core responsibilities include database migration from Oracle to Microsoft SQL Server, database administration, automation, handling issues post-database migration, and developing and fine-tuning the existing database migration framework, collaborating with customers· This position will be focused on working with application teams involved in the Migration program from On Prem to Azure Cloud.What you’ll do:· Plan, design, and implement migration strategies to ensure data integrity and minimize downtime.· Develop and refine database migration frameworks to streamline the process.· Use Syncsort to facilitate data transfer, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.· Manage and maintain Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server databases, ensuring optimal performance, security, and availability.· Perform regular database maintenance tasks, including backups, tuning, and monitoring.· Implement best practices for database security and data protection.· Provide technical guidance and support during all phases of the data migration project.· Identify and resolve any issues or discrepancies during data migration.· Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of data migration processes, procedures, and protocols.· Owning and resolving problems and managing customer expectations· Actively seek to learn, optimize, and investigate all issues related to database migration.· Support and collaborate with support analyst, product developer and professional services.· Proactively Identification of bottle necks and blocking and deadlock issues· Troubleshoot and resolve, in conjunction with Operational/Customer DBAs, database application issues across production, test and development environments.· Experience automating, scripting, and streamlining processes for efficiency and accuracy utilizing shell scripting or other scripting tools.What we are looking for: · Bachelor’s degree (STEM preferred) and minimum of 5-12 years of relevant work experience in Oracle / Sql Server databases administration· Strong foundation in Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server architecture and administration.· Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, T-SQL, and database scripting languages.· Experience with database migration tools and methodologies.· Knowledge of database security best practices and data protection techniques.· Strong understanding of cloud computing technologies; preferable hands-on experience in working with Azure· Experience in handling customer escalations· Proficiency in Syncsort or Any other tool for data migration.· Experience in writing automation scripts, using PowerShell, Python, Perl, Bash· Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills· Strong communication and collaboration skills· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.· Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.· Solid understanding of cloud Infrastructure environments, specifically Linux and Windows based deployments.· Excellent SQL skills and ability to write complex queries to pull and analyze data from multiple sources.· Good understanding of different file formats such as YML, JSON, Parquet.· Excellent organizational skills, able to take a systematic approach in resolving issues.Our ValuesIf you want to know the heart of a company, take a look at their values.
