Senior Cloud Database Engineer

Job Requisition ID #24WD80298Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Senior Cloud Database Administrator (DBA) to join our dynamic Cloud Infrastructure team. You have a background in managing cloud-based database systems, with a particular focus on Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure. As a Cloud DBA, you will help ensure the availability, performance, and security and cost-efficiency of our mission-critical database infrastructure.ResponsibilitiesConfigure, implementing and maintain highly available and scalable database solutions on AWS (MySQL and PgSQL RDS, DynamoDB, Aurora, Redshift) and Azure (SQL Database, Cosmos DB)Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement tuning strategiesMaintain backup and recovery procedures to minimise data loss and downtimeImplement and enforce security measures to protect sensitive data from unauthorised access or breachesAutomate routine database tasks using scripting (e.g., Python, PowerShell) or infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools (e.g., CloudFormation, Terraform)Diagnose and resolve database issues to minimise impact on business operationsWork with developers, system administrators, and other IT teams to ensure seamless integration of database solutionsStay abreast of the latest trends and technologies in cloud databases, particularly in the AWS ecosystemIdentify and implement cost optimization strategies for cloud database resourcesMinimum Qualifications7+ years of experience as a DBA, with 5 years of hands-on experience with AWS database services (MySQL and PgSQL RDS, DynamoDB, Aurora, Redshift) and at least 1 year with Azure database services (SQL Database, Cosmos DB)AWS Certified Database - Specialty or Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate (preferred)Strong knowledge of SQL and database administration principlesA solid understanding of cloud database pricing models and cost optimization techniquesProficiency in scripting (Python, PowerShell) and/or IaC tools (CloudFormation, Terraform)Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsLearn MoreAbout AutodeskWelcome to Autodesk!
