Job Summary:Company: Festival RepublicDepartment: MarketingLocation: Farringdon, London and onsite at festivalsReports to: Managing Director Working hours: Full-time, with some evenings and weekends, particularly in the lead up to and during the summer festival seasonContract type: Permanent Role DescriptionThis role requires overseeing the Marketing, PR, Advertising, Digital, Social and associated teams and reporting to stakeholders. Vital to the role is a strong knowledge in media planning and managing budgets, leading artwork direction and re-branding, co-ordinating advertising plans and digital schedules plus liaising with the event promoters and bookers to keep the direction of the festival true to the original vision whilst utilising skills to sell the event to capacity. You will be required to work on site at all our festivals and events which usually span weekends.Who you areCompetencies / Skills / Knowledge / Experience Knowledge and enthusiasm for UK festival markets and eventsSignificant marketing experienceStrong understanding of marketing and relevant markets, particularly in digital and also in live music events and festivalsUnderstanding of online tracking and reporting toolsMust have experience managing a large teamDepartmental budget responsibility Strong knowledge and experience of managing relationships with media agencies, managing paid media budgets and have experience of tracking and reporting ROI/CPC/CPM Must have experience of working directly with media ownersExperience of managing audience researchStrong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects in parallelExcellent communication and inter-personal skillsAbility to use Microsoft Office software packages Behaviours The following attributes determine how the role will be carried out and are required to be a successMust have attended and/or worked at festivalsAn ideas person with a creative flairAbility to stay calm under pressure and respond to changing priorities What the role includesUnderstand the festival market through market analysis, customer profiling and competitor awarenessDevise and implement marketing strategies with objectives that include increasing brand awareness, expanding customer base and maintaining loyaltyOverseeing a team of 25 and line managing up to 10 members of staffOversee Advertising, PR and Digital teams – applying the marketing campaigns across all strands of the team Working with the media agencies, create schedules for advertising campaigns, using a media mix of print and digital advertising, radio campaigns, mail outs, e-shots, flyer and poster distribution, video content, website activity and social networkingManage budgets for each of the events and report to Finance department regularlyManage co-promotional marketing deals with festival partners, liaising with our ticketing agencies, sponsors, artist channels and other external partnersEstablishing reciprocal marketing opportunities with mutually beneficial organisations and eventsDirect and oversee creative for artwork, including branding and brand development throughout the campaignCreate innovative marketing materials and online formats to engage with press, past purchasers and generate new customer basesImplement Marketing team’s reporting methods to feed back to the Managing Director and promoters/bookersMaintain good marketing practice and team processes in order to maximise salesMonitor advertising practises within the industry and adapt to changesCorporate branding; awareness and development is required throughout the seasonManage administration for direct reports and oversee other managers within team (holidays, payroll amendments, sickness, recruitment etc)Equal OpportunitiesWe are passionate and committed to our people and go beyond the rhetoric of diversity and inclusion.
