We are enabling consumers to buy anything, anywhere, anyhow, thus unifying the online buying experience across the mobile, local, social and digital space.  Job DescriptionWorking within the Data and Metrics team, the Sr. Product Manager will be responsible for managing the state-of-the-art eBay data and analytics platform products across the business lifecycle. The Product Manager’s focus will be defining the product roadmap and executing the product life cycle, including: gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with engineering and business groups across eBay to improve the product. The size of data processed each day by the platform and the sophistication of the architecture involved offer a unique and exciting job opportunity. This position requires an individual who is experienced managing a distributed team with a very high degree of product management skills of one of the following products or equivalents (Web analytics, CRM, CDP, BI platform, online retail data management, metadata management, data development platform).Products managed by the Data and Metrics team include multi-petabyte data repositories; tools for exploration and discovery; and data services that enable the next generation of data-driven services at eBay. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge and experience defining and managing data products that utilize traditional and nontraditional tools for leveraging information. Previous experience in environments with big data platforms and technology like Hadoop and Spark is highly desirable. QualificationsWhat we're looking for:Holistic thinker who can drive product development, define features and value propositions, work with stakeholders across the business and evangelize the product’s adoption internally and externally. Able to author training materials and product documentation and present confidently in front of large audiences. In depth knowledge of data management systems, processes and procedures – how to acquire, understand, control and distribute data and information  Exposure and experience working in a big data environments  Participate in the development of the long term product strategy providing architectural insight and industry expertise  Demonstrable experience working with other product managers to conceptualize and define data products  Able to work with architects and technical leads to translate business requirements into technical requirements for implementation  Work closely with engineering and business groups to prioritize development initiatives, maximizing the effectiveness of allotted development resources. Drive decisions across all teams and know when to escalate  Familiarity with data visualization and reporting tools like Tableau and Microstrategy  Very strong written and verbal communication skills  “Can do” attitude, team player, energetic personality, works well under pressure in a fast paced, ever-changing environment Basic Qualifications5+ years of experience in a product management role 5+ years of experience in large, high volume data environments Bachelor's Degree above or equivalent.
