The roles and responsibilities of the Coursera Finance team include accounting, financial reporting, analysis, planning, budgeting, and compliance. As our Payroll Operations Manager, EMEA and APAC, you will have the opportunity to build on your payroll experience and knowledge while supporting Coursera’s global employees. We are looking for a motivated self-starter who enjoys diving into the details and welcomes the challenge of developing scalable processes. If you are someone who is passionate about payroll accuracy, cares about the employee experience, and enjoys building cross-functional partnerships, this position may be a great fit as the next step in your payroll career.
Responsibilities:
Oversee monthly EMEA and APAC payrolls; including but not limited to, stock transactions, taxes, benefits, and variable payments
Collaborate with People Operations, Equity, and Legal in the administration of payrollManage external vendor relationships and ensure data is processed accurately and timely
Research issues independently and develop efficient processes to ensure compliance with all local employment tax regulations
Review payroll journal entries, payroll account reconciliations, and monthly payroll flux analyses
Management of payroll-related projects including year-end preparation, resolve payroll tax issues, support annual audits and other ad hoc projects
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or a related field
6+ years of experience processing payroll for multiple countries in EMEA and APAC, including knowledge of employment tax and payroll regulations
Experience with India and UK payroll processing and tax regulations
Experience working with external vendors in the administration of payroll
Strong understanding of stock transactions, including restricted stock, option exercises, and ESPP
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Workday and EY Payroll Operate Services
Strong communication skills, written/verbal, and the ability to interact with employees at all levels
Proficiency with Google Suite in an office environment and strong Excel skills, with experience creating pivot tables and v-lookups
Payroll experience in a public company and SOX experienceWorking Comment start hours Comment end
Ability to overlap working hours with Pacific Standard Time (San Francisco)
