EPM is used by company IT admins to control what applications and processes end users can run on their work devices. It does this by allowing or blocking each action based on company policy. The product will contain a set of cloud-based microservices with a UI where IT admins can create the rules for this company policy.The team is fully remote, UK-based, and, as a small team, you will be a key contributor.The roleIn a typical day you’ll be leading the implementation of the backend of the cloud-based services for the new product. This will include implementing logic for the API endpoints in Golang, such as operations on EPM policy information, EPM audit data, and logs. You’ll also work on the cloud-based storage mechanisms for EPM to store and process large amounts of policy and audit data.You’ll work closely with the rest of the EPM team so that the cloud backend is able to communicate with users’ work devices via HTTPS, and with teams working on existing microservices in the wider SailPoint Identity Security Cloud (ISC) platform to integrate EPM functionality into the wider product.In 90 days, you’ll be on-boarded and starting to lead the implementation of the cloud backend.In 6 months, you’ll be operating with a high degree of autonomy in several areas, such as the microservices, cloud storage, and Kafka streams.In 1 year, you’ll be the Subject Matter Expert on EPM cloud and able to run projects as the team grows.ResponsibilitiesOwnership of backend areas of the cloud code baseProduce designs and rough estimates, and implement features based on product requirementsDeliver efficient, maintainable, robust features written primarily using GolangDesign and implement systems to process vast amounts of user and policy data and store/query this information as needed using cloud storageProactively collaborate on, discuss and refine ideas, problem statements, and software designs with different (sometimes many) stakeholders, architects and members of your teamCollaborate with peers on designs, code reviews, and testingServe as a mentor to other engineers in the team and help them develop good technical principles and disciplineRequiredCollaborative, approachable and articulateGolang expertise, including concurrency, goroutines & channelsExperience with cloud-based storage solutions such as Amazon S3 or SnowflakeExperience with an event streaming platform such as Apache KafkaTesting & Debugging - unit & integration tests, including strategies for exercising external integrations; familiarity with debug & performance profiling toolsPreferredBSc in Computer Science or similar or equivalent work experience8+ years of experienceCI/CD pipelines – CloudBees/JenkinsMicroservices & SaaSInfrastructure as Code – TerraformAWS experienceSailPoint is an equal opportunity employer and we welcome everyone to our team.  All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or veteran status.
