Manufacturing Associate II, Library Production
We are looking for an outstanding Manufacturing Associate II to join our Operations Team in South San Francisco, CA. The Manufacturing Associate II will produce a variety of DNA-based products with a focus on molecular biology techniques to meet production forecast and timelines and will assist research personnel with technology transfer to production. The candidate will be highly motivated, organized, willing to take initiative, and desire work in a highly collaborative environment. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn new techniques, have excellent molecular biology knowledge and skills, take detailed experimental notes, and communicate effectively with peers and management.
What You’ll Be Doing :
Efficiently manufacture high-quality DNA products in lab according to SOPs
Execute traditional molecular/cellular biology processes and techniques including, but not limited to PCR, DNA purification, DNA quantification, cell culturing
Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of all work produced in batch records, databases, and notebooks with particular focus on issues and deviations
Initiate troubleshooting efforts for projects and assist team members with their troubleshooting
Update and write work instructions and similar documentation
Occasional presentations to communicate observations and results in group settings
Work both independently and collaboratively in a safe manner
Focus on details to perform consistency and efficiently
Complete assigned tasks daily to maintain production flow
Package products for delivery
Operate robotic laboratory equipment and traditional lab equipment (automated liquid handlers, pipettes, bioanalyzers, centrifuges)
NGS library preparation for short-read and long-read applications
Key Skills and Qualifications:
1-3 years of relevant lab experience and/or Bachelor or Associates degree or equivalent experience in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, or similar disciplines preferred
Familiarity with or prior experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred
Familiarity with genetics and molecular biology strongly preferred
Ability to follow and suggest improvements to work instructions and SOPs to complete manufacturing goals
Ability to communicate progress and manage priorities frequently
Ability to communicate observations and analysis of new procedures
Required for All Levels:
Experience with basic molecular biology techniques
Excellent written and verbal skills
Detail-oriented
Good computer skills and adaptive to learning new software applications
Experience with Excel, Word, Jira/Confluence (Atlassian), web-based applications, and other similar programs preferred
Working in a collaborative team-based laboratory environment
Working in controlled laboratory environment
Must be able to stand for long periods of time (>30 minutes) while performing duties
Must be able to work safely with chemicals and hazardous materials
Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs
Must be able to work outside of regular work hours/ work a flexible shift as needed
Shift Hours: Monday – Friday (8-hour day shift)

The base cash compensation for this California-based role is below. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for bonus, equity, and a generous benefits package. Final compensation amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate skill, experience, expertise, and location and may vary from the amount listed above. Compensation may be different in other locations. San Francisco Bay Area Pay Range $60,000 — $70,000 USD
