About the role This is an opportunity to drive our communications strategy for a fast-growing company. Human Interest is rapidly expanding to help more businesses offer retirement benefits to their employees and need a savvy Director of Corporate Marketing & Communications to join this super fast-paced yet outcomes-driven team. Reporting to the VP of Marketing, Enablement & Operations, this role will help us take marketing to a new level. In this hybrid role you will have your own outcomes, while also leading a team of content and lifecycle marketing managers. skills. To be successful, you should be a seasoned marketing leader with broad experience (specifically in high growth start-ups) in strategic communications, public relations, social media management, customer reference management, campaigns and content marketing.  You will need to roll up your sleeves, write a lot, and collaborate even more.  Oh, and as we go 24,791 mph, you should be comfortable with speed and change. What you get to do every  day Communications (40% of role) You will be responsible for: Developing a communications strategy for partners, prospects, and customers that works for Human Interest with measurable goals and resultsDeveloping the strategy and drive the organization’s newsletters – to prospects, customers and partners – with cross-functional team members to executeOverseeing the development and execution of our public relations strategies that support overall company mission and goals. Will include drafting compelling press releases Managing our external PR agency to support their execution of media outreach and act as liaison with key stakeholders Managing corporate narrative, partnering with other marketing teams on overall storytelling strategy, and how that informs SEO, reputation management, and more Keeping informed about industry trends and emerging PR and social media strategies.  Managing the application process for various organizational awards that position Human Interest as an industry leader and innovator (e.g., JD Powers or Stevie Award) and work with your team on application submissions Driving strategic brand reputation management and measure the effectiveness of communication efforts on an ongoing basis Measuring and reporting on the effectiveness of communication programs and initiatives, and use data to inform future strategy Collaborating with Marketing team on integrated external communications and content strategies Working closely with cross-functional teams to support key business initiatives, such as product launches, corporate events, and partnerships Content Marketing  and Lifecycle Management (40% of role) You will have work through the Manager, Content Marketing: Developing a content marketing strategy, roadmap, themes, and editorial calendar  Creating full-funnel content pillars and derivatives (infographics, blogs, video scripts, ebooks, white papers, events/webinar programming etc.) for integrated marketing programs aligned to target personas and buying stages Identifying opportunities for new content types, channels, and visual material (image/video) or engagement tools (surveys, calculators) to maximize relevance for target audiences Providing guidance to stakeholders for the best formats/deliverables to achieve their goals Regularly reporting on content performance using data derived through analytics tools to identify opportunities and learning Mapping Human Interest’s customer lifecycle stages and create strategic initiatives for each stage of the customer journey, which include onboarding, expansion, and retention Identifying key measurable metrics (SKU upsell, license expansion, churn prevention, etc.) that these lifecycle programs can effectively influence Establishing feedback loops to ensure messaging in our campaigns is accurate, differentiated, and meaningful to our target personas Social Media (10%) We do minimal Social presently. With the team’s help: Developing a corporate social media strategy and creating engaging content that spans industry news, thought leadership, event presence, and revenue-generating marketing initiatives.   Monitoring comments and interactions across social media platforms, promptly addressing inquiries, feedback, and concerns from customers.  Delivering performance measurement and reporting across social media campaigns to executive leadership, ensuring the effectiveness of marketing efforts and providing strategic recommendations for optimization. Customer Testimonials (10% of role) You will be responsible for: Establishing and managing a customer testimonial program. Identify and manage customer databases for referrals.  Solicit testimonials from satisfied customers, conduct interviews, and create compelling testimonial assets for marketing purposes. What you bring to the role 10+ years of relevant experience across corporate marketing and strategic communications or PR (experience with PR is a must) with 5+ years of experience in the SaaS industry – experience in Finance Technology is a plus Effective communicator and collaborator alongside excellent writing and editing skills Creative yet data-driven mindset that knows the right type of content that works best for a specific audience Proven track record of setting editorial strategy and developing a variety of content that engage business leaders, tech-savvy readers, and the c-suite across the buyers’ journey.  Meticulous attention to detail - rarely making typos and noticing discrepancies that others would miss Proven track record of successfully developing and implementing strategic PR campaigns that have enhanced brand visibility and reputation. Experience in measuring and analyzing PR performance metrics, using data to inform strategic decisions and optimize campaign effectiveness. Obsessive about measuring and optimizing the performance of your content Excellent interpersonal and cross-functional skills – you have the ability to think and communicate creatively, thoughtfully, and on your feet with diverse technical and non-technical team members Strong work ethic and ability to collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams, such as product marketing, revenue marketing, brand, compliance, and executive leadership, to ensure alignment of messaging and goals. A “people person” who is passionate about delivering exceptional customer experience and can communicate difficult concepts fluidly Learn that being a perfectionist won’t achieve the outcome; take calculated risks. We take into account the cost of labor for each position in various markets across the US. The base salary for this position spans $170,000 - $180,000 and represents the minimum in our lowest geographic region to a maximum in our highest geographic region. The salary that we offer to a new employee within this range is based on their location within the US, their relevant job-related skills, and experience. At Human Interest, base salary is one component of the overall Total Rewards package. This position will also offer a variable target range of $20,000 - $30,000.
