Description Description As part of the SCI team, you will work with the talent dense team who crafted the intelligent assistant that helps users get things done — just by asking. You will be responsible for doing research in the deep learning field and developing the most advanced natural language and conversation understanding systems. You should be passionate about working with software and platform engineers to integrate the models on-device and improve natural language understanding ability of Siri. Excellent interpersonal skills will be required to coordinate work across multiple teams to ship the state-of-the-art technology to production and impact all Siri users. Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Master's or Ph.D. in Computational Linguistics, Natural Language Processing, Computer Science, or a related field. Solid understanding of linguistic theory, including syntax, semantics, pragmatics, and phonetics, and demonstrated experience applying linguistic principles to computational tasks. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++, and familiarity with relevant libraries and frameworks (e.g., NLTK, spaCy, TensorFlow, PyTorch). Experience with statistical modeling, machine learning techniques, and deep learning architectures for natural language processing tasks (e.g., sequence labeling, machine translation, sentiment analysis). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and draw meaningful conclusions to inform decision-making. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a proven track record of working effectively in interdisciplinary teams and driving projects to completion. Prior experience in developing conversational agents, virtual assistants, or similar AI-driven applications is a plus. Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including engineers, designers, and product managers to integrate linguistic solutions into Siri's architecture and contribute to product development efforts. Research: Stay abreast of the latest advancements in computational linguistics, machine learning, and natural language processing, and apply cutting-edge techniques to drive innovation within the Siri ecosystem. Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough testing and evaluation of linguistic models and algorithms, iteratively refining performance and addressing any issues or discrepancies. Documentation and Communication: Document research findings, methodologies, and technical specifications comprehensively, and communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure alignment and transparency. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
