The individual will be responsible for defining the strategic vision to develop the enterprise market and provide a strong network of decision maker contacts amongst prospects, customers, and channel partners, providing thought leadership to accelerate new business and revenue growth, whilst protecting the strategic accounts in key markets. The candidate will deliver on the Magic of Equinix; cultural values to employees, and continue to attract top talent and manage the current business in Italy as well as expansions including x-Scale. This role will be based in Milan.Responsibilities:Own the 5-year vision for the country / market, market opportunity and competitive positionLead development of a 1–3-year metro strategy plan for each metro, to include objectives for retail verticals, networks and hyperscalePartner with Corporate Development / Commercial Finance / Sales to develop, drive and execute the market development plan and metro strategyDrive retail growth and retail leadership in marketBe the most senior business leader in Italy and play an active role as the country representative on the regional GEM leadership teamInspirational leadership of the Italian team to deliver the Equinix strategic goals whilst securing high employee satisfaction and strong engagement of the teamIdentify, motivate, sponsor, develop, and highlight key talentEnsure all employees understand our PurposeProvide local business expertise to shape strategic decisionsContribute to the development of Equinix’s strategy in the region and globally by representing the specific market requirements of the country within the companyAchieve regional P&L (EMEA)Lead and manage through any crisisKnowledge and Skills:Ability to determine and present clear strategic direction for the Italian market with the emphasis on enterprise/retail business through channel partnershipProven ability to see the ‘bigger long-term picture’ and think strategically while achieving short-term resultsFocus on execution and results – establishing high standards for performance, setting goals and developing plans, following through, and holding people accountable for resultsDriven, self-starting style with the impetus for growth and commercial successComfortable with ambiguity and uncertainty; ability to adapt nimbly and lead others through complex situationsExtensive demonstrated track record in general management as a MD or enterprise sales leaderProven and entrepreneurial General Manager with previous P&L responsibility, and ideally with experience gained at a US technology companyKnowledge of the business challenges facing enterprise executives that are driving needs for interconnection servicesExperience of establishing and scaling direct enterprise sales and partner modelsExperience of selling to a whole spectrum of industries including network and mobile providers, cloud and IT services, content providers, financial services, automotive etcExperience with recurring revenue, sales complexity, solution selling, readying platforms for B2BEquinix is an equal opportunity employer.
