This role is responsible for the creation and design of photorealistic characters both for offline and realtime context. The creation responsibilities include aid in data capture and acquisitions, creation of realistic cg models, texture, shading, FACS face shapes, clothing, hair, and anything related to realistic character / creature asset creation.High end photorealistic creation skills is a must for this role. Must be able to live and breath photorealistic quality characters with ease with quick turnaround. Photorealistic character design skills highly desired.What you’ll be doing:You would be responsible for the creation and art development of photorealistic characters and creatures.Experience with data acquisition, image based capture and scanning techniques a plus.Handle and set standard in asset building from data acquisition all the way to model, texture, and shading. (body, face, clothes, hair, realistic eye structure..etc)You should be someone that looks forward and stay in touch with new technologies for scanning and art creation. Willing to take initiatives and experiment with new technologies and workflow.Being part of a team that will help redesign traditional 3d creation approaches, you will aid in new technology developments from the character creation perspective.You must be a strong collaborator and be able to collaborate well with other diverse teams including but not limited to: artists, technical artists, researchers, and engineers.You can think outside of the box for challenging art problems.What we need to see:B.S. degree (or equivalent experience) with a Minimum 8+ years of work experience in visual effects / CG productionYou are an expert in photorealistic human modeling and texturing. Experience with shading and rendering realistic skin a plusStrong character art and design sense. Expert knowledge of anatomy, anatomical structure, and character motion.Keep up with new trends in tools and technologies for content creation.Strong proficiencies with popular DCC applications: Maya, 3dsmax, Zbrush, Mudbox, Substance, Photoshop ..etc. Experience with realtime engine a plus.Experience or understanding of the workflow and limitations of realtime 3D technology is a plus.Excellent problem solving and communication skills.Self-sufficient and can manage his / her own timeA strong sense of self-motivation and ability to work with little supervision.Solid time and project management skills - accessibility and willingness to collaborate is a must.Ways to stand out from the crowd:Ability to prototype assets and design quickly.Strong experience with highend 3d acquisition (photogrammetry, scanning, proper photo acquisitions) for photoreal characters highly desired.The base salary range is 132,000 USD - 230,000 USD. Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions.You will also be eligible for equity and benefits.
