A successful candidate will be able to build positive relationships within Tax and across the broader company, simultaneously manage cross-functional projects and initiatives, provide tax advice to key partners, and support the business to satisfy eBay’s tax obligations.What You Will Accomplish:Manage various cross-functional projects and initiatives of our global businesses, as well as support new country expansionsCollaborate and coordinate with a variety of eBay teams, including product, engineering, legal, accounting, finance, and customer serviceConnect with key team members at all levels on statutory and go-to-market requirementsAnalyze complex tax issues and provide tax advice on strategic planning initiatives, legislative developments, and other ad hoc mattersAssist with M&A due diligence and integration support as neededReview legal contracts and agreements between eBay and various vendors and partners to determine any indirect tax impactsManage internal audit initiatives while focusing on taxability improvements and scalable exemption certificate solutionsBuild playbooks and memos that detail our tax policy, position, and proceduresAssist with developing training material to be deployed to key functions within the businessManage external advisors as necessaryProvide guidance, coaching, and mentoring to members of the teamWhat You Will Bring:Extensive knowledge of sales and use taxes in the United StatesProven track record of managing cross-functional projects with multiple dependencies in a fast-paced environmentDemonstrated success in ability to explain complex tax issues in a clear and concise mannerExperience with the indirect taxation trends of the digital economyExperience interacting directly with US state and local tax authoritiesStrong attention to detail and analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skillsExcellent interpersonal and communication skills, get it done attitudeAbility to successfully work with various teams across time zonesBasic Qualifications:6-8 years of technical indirect tax experience gained in public accounting and/or e-Commerce industryFluent in English - other languages helpfulBachelor's degree or equivalent experience with an emphasis in Tax, Legal, or Accounting; advanced degree is helpfulCMI Certification preferred; CPA a plus#LI_JG1The pay range for this position at commencement of employment in California, Washington, or New York is expected in the range below.$106,800 - $162,800Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave).
