Job Requisition ID #24WD79782Position OverviewAs an Software Development Engineer, you will be part of the Tools and Automation team within Autodesk's Enterprise Delivery Center (EDC). EDC is instrumental in allowing global IT infrastructure by detecting and addressing failures across Autodesk's internal applications. We are more focused on bringing more automation, seamless DevOps experience and AI intelligence to the existing process which helps EDC's continued service delivery. Our team has a lot of visibility and the impact of our work can be directly related to our results.Your role is to identify, design and deliver automation which adds more productivity hours to the Operations team. Your primary focus is to perform frequent assessments of the automation requirements, and negotiate the scope of any automation which results in generating more productivity hours for operations engineers. You will also design and develop the automation with the most suitable and technologies. You will partner with application owners, operations engineers, Governance teams etc, to transform more tasks into meaningful automations.To be more successful and impactful in the role, you need to understand business questions the same way you understand the tools and automation methods. You will report to the Engineering Manager of Tools & Automations, and be based in Bengaluru where we provide a hybrid work arrangements.ResponsibilitiesIdentify and collect automation requirements and plan the best approach to develop and deliver the automationAdopt different automation tools, languages and methodologies based on the needBe creative by using the technologies and propose more useful solutions for the business problems regarding automationExplore more deployment, release, service, process, and incident automation practices and improve the solution designTake ownership of issues around the automated environment and provide an end-to-end solutionAutomate IT Processes, infrastructure provisioning, integrating different infrastructure servers etcMinimum Qualifications3 to 6 years of proven experience in Automation development, deployment, maintenance, DevOpsScripting experience in Python, PowerShell, and Shell scripting in production automation development and deployment. Familiarity with other scripting and programming languagesExposure towards AWS cloud services is mandatoryUnderstanding of DevOps process and Agile development cycle with Continuous Integration / Delivery (CI/CD). Experience with CI/CD platformsHands-on knowledge in the Automation of administration activities through Ansible, Chef, Puppet or any similar orchestration engines is mandatoryVery good experience with REST APIs, dealing with. json, .yaml config files is mandatoryWorking knowledge in Docker containers and Kubernetes environment will be a plusHands-on experience in System and network automation via configuration management toolsCross-platform experience is mandatory.
