We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Billing and Accounts Receivable to join our finance team. This critical role will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of collections and billing operations, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record of driving process improvements in collections and billing functions.
What you’ll do:
Lead and manage the collections and billing team, providing direction, support, and development opportunities.
Develop and implement strategies to improve collection rates and reduce outstanding receivables.
Oversee the billing process to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
Monitor and analyze key performance metrics, providing regular reports and insights to senior management.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and enhance operational efficiency through automation.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, addressing any billing or collection issues promptly and professionally.
Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, including tax and financial reporting requirements.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize collections and billing processes.
Manage the budget for the collections and billing department, ensuring cost-effective operations.
Skills and knowledge you should possess:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within collections and billing.
Proven track record of improving collection rates and reducing outstanding receivables.
Strong knowledge of billing processes, financial regulations, and compliance requirements.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
Exceptional leadership and team management abilities, with a focus on fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
Proficiency in financial software and tools, with advanced Zuora and Excel skills.
Bonus points (nice skills to have, but not needed):
Experience in the video technology industry is a plus.
Targeted Base Salary Range: $117,000.00 to $178,000.00
The base salary range listed above is for candidates located in the U.S., including the New York City metro area.
