Your Role:
Alpaca is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Operations Associate and Clearing Analyst to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will manage day-to-day functions related to options clearing at the Options Clearing Corporation (OCC), perform daily reconciliation of trades and settlement breaks, monitor option assignments, expirations, and early exercises, utilize data analysis to improve operational efficiencies, and provide ad-hoc technical support to other members of the brokerage operations team.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage the daily operations related to options clearing at the OCC.
Ensure all clearing activities are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
Monitor and resolve any issues related to options clearing to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Perform daily reconciliation of trades and identify any discrepancies or settlement breaks.
Monitor and manage option assignments, expirations, and early exercises.
Ensure all assignments and exercises are processed correctly and in a timely manner.
Utilize data analysis tools to identify areas for operational improvements and efficiencies.
Develop and implement strategies to streamline processes and reduce operational risks.
Provide adhoc technical support to other members of the brokerage operations team.
Assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to operations and clearing processes.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
FINRA Series 7 license or willingness to obtain license..
At least 2-3 years of experience in brokerage operations, clearing, or a related field.
Strong understanding of options clearing processes and familiarity with the OCC.
Experience working with the OCC Encore portal.
Proficiency in SQL and Python for data analysis.
Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to spot unusual patterns or discrepancies.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
High ethical standards and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
