Job Summary:About us:Spark Arena is a 12,000-seat arena for sports and entertainment events located in Auckland, New Zealand. We're proud to be New Zealand's most dynamic entertainment and sporting venue offering a superb performance space, attracting the biggest names in the world of sports & entertainment since 2007.The role:Reporting to the Technical Manager, the Operations Supervisor will provide hands on leadership in preparing the venue for events.You'll work independently which will compliment your great organisational skills, whilst understanding the importance of prioritising tasks and requests. You will be supervising the operations team to setup staging, draping and curtains, sport surfaces and equipment, seating modes and/or function spaces to accommodate the variety of events seen at Spark Arena. The supervisor will also assist with general maintenance of equipment, training of new staff members, health and safety and general ownership of the back of house areas.The Operations Supervisor is a vital part of the Spark Arena team that delivers a professional, safe and world class facility for all our patrons and users. Please note, this is a casual role, with minimum of 30 hours per week on a 7-day rotating roster (involving weekdays, weekends & late nights) to support shows & events held at Spark Arena. Additionally you will carry out: Erection, maintenance, and storage of Spark Arena staging, crowd barriers and associated equipment, systems and signageOperation, maintenance and storage of arena bowl seating and sparesInstallation, maintenance and storage of basketball courts, backboards, and associated equipmentAssistance with with technical documentation and reviewing / updating / creating of SOP’sSet-up and control of operational storage areasOperation and basic maintenance of machinery (inc forklifts and EWP’s) and associated equipmentFollow all Spark Arena policies and procedures aligned to health and safety and general operations of Spark arena Other duties as defined by the Operations Coordinator or Technical Manager as may be deemed necessary for an event or other purposeComplying and relaying all relevant legislation, New Zealand standards, codes of practice and company policy and procedure to your teamWho and what are we looking for? Experience in a similar role or transferable skillset is highly advantageous A passion (bordering on obsession) for music and live eventsExperience with the operation and basic maintenance of machinery (inc forklifts and EWP’s) and associated equipmentGeneral knowledge of the Microsoft Suite Excellent time management with ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with strong attention to detail, with the ability to lead a small teamProactive with a willingness to learn and identify new or improved ways of doing thingsWhat do we offer?
