Job Requisition ID #24WD79551Position OverviewWe are looking for a Principal UI Designer to create visually cohesive, quality experiences that delight our users. Reporting into the Senior Manager, Experience Design, the ideal candidate will have expertise in designing attractive and intuitive UI elements and interfaces. You will have a deep understanding of UI design principles and practices, including hierarchy, balance, alignment, color, and typography. Additionally, you can create interfaces that are versatile across all devices and screen sizes, and uphold the standards of accessible and inclusive design.This role can be remote, hybrid or onsite.ResponsibilitiesYou will lead design and initiatives and mentor other designersYou will create, extend, and oversee platform-level UI patterns based on shared requirementsYou will build effective working relationships with the cohort of design leads to evolve and enforce standardsYou are an advocate for elegant customer-focused solutionsYou will utilize visual design to tell compelling storytellingYou will coordinate or lead cross-functional exploration, analysis, and problem-solving efforts, involving multiple complex systems and multiple stakeholdersYou will guide teams in using a holistic approach to clarify patterns, cycles, dependencies, and relationshipsYou will generate the best outcomes by exploring emerging patterns and reframing opportunitiesYou will conduct research to validate work, applying data to guide decision-makingYou will assist the team in formulating a plan to understand the business and competitive landscapeMinimum QualificationsYou have 8+ years of professional user experience design experienceYou have 5+ years of UI design experienceYou are an expert in UI and human-centered design principles, with experience applying multiple techniques throughout the design processYou have a proven ability to customize or evolve design processes to fit project needs, including larger and more complex projectsYou have excellent communication and storytelling skillsYou have a deep knowledge of product/service/platform workflows and industry trendsYou have proven experience in leveraging facilitation to select design thinking principles and processes that will result in clear outcomesYou have broad knowledge of information architecture principles and ability to deploy various IA strategies for complex projectsYou a proficient in conducting user research to inform IA decisionsPreferred QualificationsYou have the proven ability to build credibility, trust, and authority across a network of peers, stakeholders, and teammatesYou have the capability to promote participation, listening, and alignment and broad engagement in meetingsYou are eager to mentor team members to enhance their facilitation skillsLearn MoreAbout AutodeskWelcome to Autodesk! Join us!Salary transparencySalary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $133,300 and $215,600. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For Canada-BC based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $112,000 and $154,000. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range.
