Project and Program ManagerResponsible for guiding, advising, and delivering against the Equinix capital (CapEX) program, in which a multitude of projects are derived from.Accountable for delivering, scoping, and implementing approved CapEX projects, across the UK Data Centre portfolio. Accountable for managing the interface between UK Operations and identified stakeholders. Owning assigned projects End2End, including but not limited to (End of Life) EoL asset replacements, remedial corrective and preventive measures, energy efficiency and real estate improvements/ enhancements.ResponsibilitiesProject/Program ManagementScopes, deliveries, supports and identifies projects in cooperation with Data Centre Operations and the Snr management stakeholders.Responsible for running projects and programs in all the Data Centre’s, in region and in close cooperation with Data Centre operations.Will be responsible for ensuring project governance/standards are in place, upheld and followed.Project/Program DeliveryResponsible for successfully completing their projects on time, within budget, quality and scope.PlanningAdvises the team on a range of approaches to planning and gathering information across functional and cross functional projects.Responsible for phasing projects across 5+ Year plans, whilst executing projects against the program’s requirements.Technical & System SupportExperience in delivering data centre technologies, such as - HVAC, UPS, switch gear, power generation systems, cable management, BMS/EMS and SCADA.Extensive Project/Programme management background in a data centre / critical environmentKnowledge of Installing, maintaining, and modifying M&E systems within Live Data Centre environments.Ensures that none of the projects will have a negative effect on Data Centre availability.Stakeholder ManagementIdentifies and anticipates project engagement needs on behalf of the team's projects to advise team members when required.Encourages, asks for feedback on the team or individuals.Is an escalation point to resolve stakeholder issues within the team.CommunicationsUpholds the programs communication requirements and seeks to continually improve the team's communications standardsThink more broadly and focuses on consistent communications as and when requiredRisk Management· Reports on risk and issue management and the appropriate levels of control· Drives and supports the team on the resolution of escalated issuesResource Management (people, finances etc.)· Will provide management updates on a variety of resource management KPI's· Is an escalation point for the team for solving resource/budgetary issues· Contributes and/or responsible for resource planning (people, finances etc.) activitiesEngineering and TechnologyExperience with datacentres, infrastructure facilities, building management systemsKnowledge of global compliance and certifications that may apply.Work cross-functionally with the PMO organization and the UK OPS representatives in thecompany.Knowledge and ExperienceCustomer and Personnel ExperienceExperience working in mission-critical organizations with dynamic, fast-paced environments.Understands how to assess customer needs through direct communication, meeting qualitystandards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.Creates an atmosphere of interdependence, collaboration, and reciprocal communication among departments or divisions within the company.Safety and SecurityKnowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effectiveData Centre operations for the protection of people, data, property, and sites.Contributes to inspections, internal and external audits.Vendor ManagementExpert negotiating and contract knowledge, relationship building with service and materialsuppliers to ensure that project are carried out against the set scope and goalsConstructionStrong cross functional knowledge base of Data Centre build design and principles to provide detailed input to internal/external construction teams.Skills and AttributesCritical Thinking and Decision MakingUses logic and reasoning to investigate technical issues and instructs supervisors on resolving issues.Highly disciplined and organized with an analytical mindset.Displays sense of urgency with deadlines and drives objectives with increasing challenges.LeadershipSkilled leader to lead projects and programsFosters an environment of cross-collaboration with an openness to growth and frequent changes.High-level understanding of project management principles and disciplines.
