Join the team and create the future of customer experience together.SummaryThe Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for the development of components and services used to deliver mission critical cloud products. They will work in a fast-paced cloud-based environment where continuous change, innovation and experimentation are all encouraged. They will work with technologies like TypeScript, Java, Kafka, Redis, Amazon Web Services, and New Relic, among others. They will iteratively deliver software in a true DevOps model following CI/CD and agile best practices. Additionally, they will demonstrate mastery in one or more of these technologies and will be an expert in distributed systems. They will be a leader, mentor and role model for their peers and juniors.Responsibilities / Job DutiesBe part of the team that handles digital messaging a large volume of messages from a variety of channels, including, but not limited to, Facebook, Twitter, Line, WhatsApp, Instagram, WebMessaging.Management of microservices: design, development, deployment, configuration and supporting documentationDesign, development, and testing of features/functions delivered via platform components and/or services that are secure, reliable, highly scalable and availableOwnership of features beginning to end from design documents and reviews to acceptance testing and deploymentReview code and provide feedback relative to best practices, improve readability and anticipate issuesTroubleshoot production support issues post-deployment and come up with solutions as requiredShow pride of ownership and strive for excellence in everything they doRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in computer science or related work experience5+ years’ experience in software engineering and in Java, Typescript Experience with synchronization techniques in stateless distributed systemsDemonstrable understanding of scalability and availability in distributed systemsWorking experience with REST API back-end servicesExperience with Cloud technologiesA strong data-driven/fact-based decision makerComfortable interacting with developers and consumers of message bus designPrefers working in fast-paced environmentExperience working with remote engineering teamsEffective verbal and written communicatorStrong collaboration and listening skillsKey SkillsOperating system: Linux (Amazon OS)Networking: TCP/IP, subnets, network ACLs, DNS, load balancingDatabases: MySQL, Redis, DynamoDBProgramming languages: Java, TypeScript, JavaScript, Python#LI-Hybrid#LI-IS2If a Genesys employee referred you, please use the link they sent you to apply.About Genesys:Every year, Genesys orchestrates billions of remarkable customer experiences for organizations in more than 100 countries.
