Our designers use creative and innovative solutions to deliver high-quality experiences our customers will love.Reporting to the Director of Experience Design for Marketing and Buying Experiences, the Principal User Experience Designer will be the lead designer to support our efforts in improving overall conversion on Autodesk.com. You will bring a strategic and testing mindset, the ability to create structure, work through unknowns, experience leading and influencing teams, and a thoughtful approach to organization, collaboration, and execution on behalf of our  customer.For consideration, candidates must include both a resume + portfolio (showcasing high-impact e-commerce or transactional experiences) with password when applying. Preference for candidates in Bay Area to work hybrid/remote. Open to considering remote US West Coast-based candidates.ResponsibilitiesLead experience design initiatives and help set strategy by evaluating and identifying the intersection of business needs, customer needs, and technical opportunitiesPartner closely with product management, engineering, and data science in exploring, planning, verifying, and building solutions. Construct compelling artifacts (wireframes, conceptual diagrams, task flows, storyboards, presentations, etc.) that outline present conditions and proposed solutions to gain strategic alignment and encourage innovation across the organizationPlan and conduct customer research activities and quantitative A/B testing throughout the project lifecycle, including collaborative sessions with customers and development partners to validate designs and make iterative improvementsDemonstrate thought leadership by engaging with designers throughout the company and beyond to share best practices and promote collaborationPlan and facilitate design-thinking exercises to break through organizational silos and collaboratively solve complex design challengesMinimum Qualifications8+ years of related professional user experience design and customer research experience4+ years designing e-commerce / transactional experiencesDemonstrated experience with top of funnel website design, driving conversion and conducting large scale hypothesis testingDemonstrated experience in leading cross-functional teams in problem definition and analysis, understanding customer workflows, creating prototypes and designs that solve customer problemsAbility to visualize and prototype intended solutions at various levels of fidelity, from high-level wireframes or mock-ups to conceptual presentations to highly technical documents and diagramsAbility to present designs to a wide range of audiences, including software development, quality assurance, learning content development, marketing, and salesUp-to-date expertise in human-centered design best practicesExperience with designing and conducting customer research using various methods, including interviewing, contextual inquiry, usability testing, etc.Ability to distill complex ideas, and large amounts of data and viewpoints, to their essencePreferred QualificationsBachelor’s degree in interaction design or related fieldExperience designing for enterprise software, SaaS, cloud, and multi-channel experiencesExperience with Agile software design methodsExperience with Autodesk or comparable competitive products#LI-HR1Learn MoreAbout AutodeskWelcome to Autodesk! For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $133,300 and $215,600. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range.
