As a representative of Equinix and the CRE org, the host will play a crucial role in creating a welcoming, professional environment that reflects our company values.ResponsibilitiesWelcome DeskAct as the “face” of Equinix, creating a positive vibe/first impression at the office front desk/entry areaGreet visitors and employees, CRE’s customers, engaging in conversation upon arrival and departureAnticipate and fulfill guests' needs; striving to exceed their expectationsAnswer questions from customers related to the building including way finding, policies and procedures, and etiquetteCoordinate visitor check-ins and security procedures using Envoy visitor management systemNotify Equinix employee hosts of their guest's on-site arrivalManage distribution of security badges, and reconcile visitor logs and the EV charging station program (if applicable)Maintain awareness of potential office security issues and communicate concerning issues to local CRE metro lead, building security when appropriate, and risk management team management tool, ensuring compliance with company policiesMaintain orderly and presentable lobby, moving deliveries or broken items out of site immediatelyAssist with onboarding new employees by providing essential information and resources, supporting no dead endsEmployee EngagementBuild a welcoming and collaborative community environment amongst our customersCultivate a positive vibe through fun and engaging activities at the front deskProvide surprise and delight customer opportunitiesOffice CommunicationsCreate fun and informative communications for office events and information using Outlook, Viva Engage, and Office Raven toolsEnsure timely and professional communications to internal and external stakeholdersServe as liaison between employees and various departments, addressing any workplace-related concerns or inquiriesBuilding OperationsAssist with receiving deliveries of all external and inter-office mail and support employees on all mail and shipping requirements as neededProvide direction and information to vendors, service providers, and Corporate Real Estate staff as required to ensure excellent coordinationAssist with office ticketing system and follow up ticket status, assigning tickets to the correct CRE team member or rerouting to correct department, ensuring no dead-endsSupport employees with business card orderingAll of this while illustrating Equinix’s core values and working towards achieving our mission of delighting our customersBusiness Continuity & ComplianceMay act as a representative of the safety committee teamMaintain proficiency in fire, safety, security, and emergency procedures as per the PlaybookQualificationsCustomer Service or hospitality experienceStrong interpersonal skillsPresentable and professional demeanorFluency in written and verbal EnglishStrong written communication skills – clarity and grammar – for employee-facing materialsConfidence and experience interacting with individuals at all levelsMS Office skills, particularly Outlook, Excel and WordOffice Administration skillsPreferred SkillsGenuine enthusiasm and creativityInitiative-driven mindsetSeeks to improve processes, systems and overall client satisfaction continuouslySensibly balances timely and efficient delivery with tact and diplomacyKnowledge of general business, facilities management, and office support servicesAbility to develop and manage resources and programs independentlyUnderstanding of business planning, goal setting, and budgetingExcellent people and communications skills and ability to work effectively with others at all levelsFamiliarity with work order ticketing management systemsEducationDesired bachelor's degree or 5 years of work experience with a focus in hospitality management preferred, or coursework related to the job descriptionDesired BehaviorsMaintain a consistently positive, pleasant, and helpful demeanor always and remain calm under pressureProject a welcoming attitude by offering a warm and friendly smile, and open body languageDress the part, smart/tech casual, present as professional, neat, and well-maintained – think interview attireBe an energetic person displaying a customer-centric attitudeExcel as an effective communicatorEquinix is an Equal Employment Opportunity and, in the U.S., an Affirmative Action employer.
