Technical Support Engineer Melbourne, Australia Home & Office HybridAct as Staff Technical Support Engineer in rotation for 2 different areas within DWDM e2e project environment:1. DWDM system engineer for our Test facility in Melbourne DWDM Care system engineer 2. DWDM system engineer for our Test facility in Melbourne Act as DWDM system engineer to test already designed and build up DWDM rings in a test environment with the following activities:Prepare the test documentation for the specific DWDM systemQuality checks on the build systemCommissioning of the DWDM systemLoading the configuration filesTesting/troubleshootingFinal configuration settingsTest documentationCustomer presentationProof Of Concept/DemoHandover for site deliveryCare services:Act as customer’s interface for advanced Care service delivery and support, often in several areas/countries if requested. Work with large and / or complex projects or troubleshooting cases. Scope is often solution/system level. Provide advanced technical support for queries (customer & internal), according to customer contract and internal support model.Leading role in complex troubleshooting cases, including 3rd party equipment and Multivendor InterfacesResponsible for meeting contracted response times.Responsible as technical customer contactHandles technical requests, provides understanding of customer’s network configuration, co-ordinates resolution deliverySystem tracing and protocol flow analysis, expert in utilizing troubleshooting toolsParticipate in 24X7 Oncall RosterGeneric knowledge and activitiesProject management duties (e.g. planning of a subproject or special Care projects, technical manager substitute, managing subcontractors).Consultancy type of activities: Applies customer understanding in customer relationship building, opportunity identificationType testing in test bed and writing test cases based on feature requirements or functionalitiesMethod of procedures for SW upgradesExperience and EducationBachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferably from electrical engineering, communications engineering or physics.Good understanding of physical backgrounds and system architecture of Packet Optical systems7+ years relevant experienceExperiences in planning and setup of test beds for optical system verificationProfessional ExperienceAdvanced Knowledge of Optical Transport Network.Advanced Knowledge of DWDM technologies/productAdvanced Knowledge of ROADM/DWDM, OTN, GMPLS, WSON, SDH, Ethernet Layer2 & Layer3, PTN/MPLS-TP technologiesAdvanced Knowledge of System testingAdvanced foundation-knowledge in Network Management System and OAM conceptAdvanced DCN design and deployment skills for Optical Transport NetworkAdvanced Skills of Information seeking Knowledge of Industry transport products (at least product theory and implementation)Basic Knowledge of Project ManagementFluent English, both written and spoken#LI-GA1#LI-Hybrid“This position requires direct or indirect access to certain confidential information, hardware, software, technology, or technical information (referred to here as “Export-Controlled Information”) controlled under the U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or the U.S. Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
