We must deliver a solution that our customers find dependable and performant, while simultaneously addressing security, privacy, and cost concerns.As an individual contributor, senior technology leader, reporting to the Chief Architect, Platform Services & Emerging Technology (PSET), you will identify, assess, prioritize, and most importantly lead projects and initiatives through which we will achieve this outcome. You will play a key part in realizing Autodesk’s platform vision and transforming multiple industries.Seeking candidates on the West Coast, United States to work remote or hybrid/remote.ResponsibilitiesWork with peers throughout Autodesk to understand our architectural landscape and challenges, articulate opportunities, and motivate change with an emphasis on building trustSynthesize and communicate a technical vision encompassing data storage and management, scalable and distributed computation, and the application of AI technologies while creating pragmatic, incremental plans towards this visionShape the components, relationships, and governing principles that define the architecture of our systemsApply your architectural and system knowledge, and data, to influence strategy, planning, and executionEstablish standards and practices for software design; define views, diagrams, and other formalisms used to explore and articulate designsWork with leadership to articulate our current architecture and inform future investments via quantitative and qualitative argumentsAssess current development and operational practices from an architectural perspective, emphasizing privacy, security and especially resilience. Propose, prioritize, and, and encourage adoption of Autodesk architecture and practice standardsCoordinate with multiple industry division product development teams, other members of our centralized platform team, and other teams as requiredIn collaboration with peers in PSET’s architectural organization, provide input on solving current and ongoing architecture challenges, designing and articulating architectural direction for platform and interrelated divisionsContribute to cross-organization working groups targeted to solving some of Autodesk’s most pressing architectural challengesHelp facilitate the architecture council, including setting agendas, backlog prioritization, and communicationMaintain and apply expert-level, up-to-date knowledge of architectural patterns, technologies and trendsBring innovative, state of the industry architectural thinking to our practice of software architectureTrack industry best practices and advocate where relevantWrite and speak internally about your work through internal conferences, mentoring, seminars, etc.Lead re-use of platform capabilities and drive contributions to the Autodesk platformDrive improvements to Autodesk architectural standards, documentation, and processPlay a leading role in Autodesk technical conferences and forumsLead or participate in company-wide technical working groupsTravel at least six times per year to attend internal conferences and forums, and to meet with geographically distributed development teamsShare your knowledge and experience, including through mentoringMinimum Qualifications18+ years of experience in software architecture, with 10+ years in cloud softwareExperience delivering cloud software, spanning products and industriesAccountable without the need for deadlines or daily oversightExperience delivering work that spans products and industriesSought out by other teams, leaders, and customers for their expertiseRecognized for innovative work, such as via patents and publicationsAn understanding of software architecture practicePreferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in computer science, or equivalent experienceA demonstrable track record of innovation through patents, publications, conference presentations, etc.Learn MoreAbout AutodeskWelcome to Autodesk! For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $207,400 and $335,500. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range.
