Product Manager

As a Platform Product Manager, you will be responsible for helping to create quality products and driving a first-class user experience on the ProQuest platform and other platforms. You will also be responsible for prioritizing lists of requirements for future product development; writing user stories; making development choices to maximize business value; and, working with scrum teams, aligning development to product strategy. If this sounds like an opportunity you are interested in, then we would love to talk to you!    About You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishmentsBachelor’s degree or equivalent work experienceThree years of experience working in an Agile or Scrum development environment3 years of project management experience3 years of experience in launching software or services in partnership with engineering teams and high degree of proficiency in prototyping and iterative development3 years of experience using qualitative and quantitative data to prioritize and drive decision-making It would be great if you also had . . .MBA, MLIS, or similarly relevant graduate degreeFamiliarity working with A/B testing and web analytics to guide product & UI developmentFamiliarity with Silicon Valley Product Group product development methods and strategiesFamiliarity with market research techniques for surveying customer and market needs and requirementsKnowledge of or experience working in the academic library marketplaceWhat will you be doing in this role?You will be responsible for helping to create quality products and driving a first-class user experience on the ProQuest platform and other platforms.You will also be responsible for prioritizing lists of requirements for future product development; writing user stories; making development choices to maximize business value; and, working with scrum teams, aligning development to product strategy.Drive the development, release, maintenance, and enhancement of productsWork with and drive alignment between cross-functional teams, including product management, design/user experience, engineering, content operations, enterprise systems, and customer serviceWork in an Agile environment, continuously reviewing business needs, refining priorities, outlining milestones and deliverables, and identifying opportunities and risksTranslate product roadmap features into well-defined product requirements including features, user stories, and acceptance test criteriaLead the product functional design process based on a detailed and extensive knowledge of the platform and usersPrioritize and maintain the sprint backlog for assigned products, balancing the requirements of stakeholdersDevelop and maintain appropriate tracking and reporting of post-launch product performance in order to assess the likely benefit of future investmentAbout the TeamPlatform is an international team of 10 people, within the wider Academic & Government product management group.
