The successful candidate will have experience with international tax issues, ideally including experience with a U.S. based multinational company. The position will be based in Infinera’s EMEA location in Lisbon, Portugal. Your responsibilities will be across the Europe, Middle East and Africa region (EMEA). You will be interacting with other members of the Finance team as well as business partners outside of finance. RESPONSIBILITIES:Support the Corporate Income Tax Compliance process within EMEA, including:Support in the review of Corporation Tax Returns, Withholding Tax Returns, generally prepared by external advisors, for the EMEA entities.Liaise with colleagues in Finance and collaborate with the company's external advisors and ensure all required information for the preparation of the returns is provided and timely submission of returns.Assist in the tax payment process across the EMEA region and in cash tax and tax expense forecasting.Prepare and analyse monthly Tax Account Roll Forwards.Prepare/review statutory tax provisions, work closely with the EMEA Finance team.Tax Accounting for the entire EMEA regionAssist with the quarterly and year-end income tax provisions (US GAAP reporting, ASC 740) including preparation of tax entries, tax account reconciliations, and supporting workpapers.Assist in the preparation of provision to return calculations.Support in account reconciliation and clearings for VAT.Prepare tax account reconciliation through Blackline.Prepare journal entries.Support in the review, analysis of intercompany settlements from a withholding tax perspective.Be involved in the review, analysis and streamline tax processes.Opportunity for involvement in ad hoc projects, e.g. legal entity rationalization, tax audit support.Tax administration tasks, e.g. maintain various tax filing, -payment calendars, organize tax residency certificates, raise purchase requisitions, manage tax payments etc.Support on internal and external audits providing information to our external auditors while complying with SOX requirements.Work collaboratively with colleagues in Finance, Legal, Internal Audit, M&A and Planning teams. Liaise on direct tax and tax accounting issues.SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:Qualified Taxation professional, experience of working in-house would be beneficial. Minimum 3-5 years post qualification experienceStrong GAAP Financial Accounting knowledgePan European Tax Compliance experienceUnderstanding of and practical experience with tax accounting (ASC 740)Experience being part of a Global Tax TeamAbility to multi-task, and to adapt to changing prioritiesExpert level Excel skillsWorking knowledge of SAP, OTP preferredStrong written and verbal communication skills, proficiency in English (written and oral)Other:Flexible working hours and hybrid work locationAttractive compensation package and additional benefitsInfinera is an equal opportunity employer.
