This role requires strong leadership, communication, and escalation / conflict resolution skills to ensure that vendors meet the business’s needs and standards while maintaining positive and productive partnerships.Key Responsibilities:Vendor Selection and Evaluation:Lead the process of identifying potential vendors and evaluating their capabilities, reliability, and alignment with the company's goals.Work closely with Procurement and Finance to secure best value commercial arrangements. Develop and maintain a robust vendor evaluation framework to assess vendor performance and suitability for the organization's needs.Contract Management:Work with Procurement and Legal to establish and maintain contracts, Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and other agreements with vendors, regularly reviewing and updating them as necessary.Vendor Relationship Management:Cultivate strong, positive relationships with key vendors through regular communication, meetings, and performance reviews.Address any issues or concerns that arise during vendor relationships, ensuring prompt resolution and adherence to contractual obligations.Comfortable with difficult vendor conversations and escalations when they are falling short of expectations. Drive Implementation of New ServicesWork with Vendors and Internal customers to build implementation or integration plans for on-boarding of new servicesActively coordinate integration or implementation activities between Vendor and internal organizationEnsure that services ‘go live’ successfully and effectively, to-planFollow up in the period post launch to ensure value is being deliveredPerformance Monitoring & ImprovementImplement systems and processes for monitoring vendor performance against established metrics and KPIs.Identify areas for improvement and work collaboratively with vendors to implement corrective actions and drive continuous improvement.Quantify and manage any SLA financial penalties. Risk ManagementIdentify and mitigate risks associated with vendor relationships, including financial, operational, and compliance risks.Develop contingency plans to address potential disruptions in the supply chain or other vendor-related issues.Load balance among multiple suppliers to reduce risk and reward exceptional performance. Cross-Functional CollaborationCollaborate with internal stakeholders, including procurement, finance, legal, and product & engineering teams, to ensure alignment and coordination in vendor management activities.Provide guidance, support and be part of the influence process to internal teams on vendor-related matters, including vendor selection, and issue resolution.Vendor Performance ReportingPrepare regular reports and presentations on vendor performance, highlighting key metrics, trends, areas for improvement and penalties.Present findings and recommendations to senior management and other relevant stakeholders to inform decision-making.Qualifications & SkillsBachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field; Master's degree preferredProven experience in vendor management, or supply chain managementExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and metrics to drive informed decision-makingProven leadership abilities, with the capacity to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams towards common goalsWilling to travel globally about 3 to 4 times a year and locally about 5 to 6 times a year.  Working hours for this role will vary depending on vendor and stakeholder time zones.The Senior Director of Product and Engineering Vendor Management plays a critical role in ensuring that the organization's vendor relationships are strategically managed to support its business objectives and drive operational excellence.
